  • Fantastic, Undead Legacy was on my radar! My best friend and I have played hundreds of hours of Darkness Falls and have loved every moment of it. We've a bit worn out on DF, but I'll keep Undead Legacy in mind the next time we want to do another play through of a 7DTD mod! What's the "anti-bullshit" mod do by the way?

  • 7DTD is fun, but The Fun Pimps have made some perplexing design decisions. Luckily there are a ton of great mods that all have unique spins. I prefer the Darkness Falls mod, it fixes a lot of the stupid design decisions of the original makers, and ramps the difficulty since vanilla 7DTD can be pretty easy after you get built up. Darkness Falls adds supernatural demons to the mix in the late game, and a ton of new mechanics, I absolutely love it.

  • The whole article is full of gross stuff if true. This part is ridiculous:

A 2022 story reported that a flight attendant on Musk’s private jet said he exposed himself and offered “to buy her a horse in exchange for an erotic massage,”

    Elon is such a weirdo.

  • When social media got big and seemingly every parent out there needed to post publicly every single event/picture/milestone for their kids online, it felt weird. 20 years prior, no parent would willingly share personal information like that to strangers, but suddenly parents couldn't help themselves.

It struck me that kids would have a very public accounting of their whole life, childhood and on, in a way that I didn't, and it probably wouldn't be a good thing.

  • I thought that feature was related to the expensive for pay Copilot feature? The recall feature listed a huge amount of space required for it to work, something like 275 GB, SSD. There is no way that'll just be a baked in feature in normal home Windows. Am I wrong Lemmy? To be clear, that feature can F right off.

  • I liked it better when crazy people could only find a platform to spread crazy by a news letter, or a small web forum. Giving every single person a giant digital soap box has proven to be not be such a great thing.

  • To be fair, there isn't a whole ton of legitimate reasons why civilians need .50 cal rifles. I wonder if republicans will oppose the bill because anything that infringes on the rights of guns is abhorrent to them. Or if they'll champion it, because Mexican Cartel's use .50 cal rifles.

I'm willing to bet it'll be the first option, because just like the border bill, they don't want anything that'll take away the drum they like to beat to rile up their base. If they only like complaining about a problem to scare people, and actively avoid fixing that problem.

  • I know, my best friend and I were watching like hawks, waiting for the traditional 1 year to elapse for a US console release. Normally it's 1 year after Japan's release then it comes out in the US on Playstation. Then 6 months too a year later it comes out on PC. It's wonderful it'll come out on PC at the same time as the consoles. That way my best friend and I can play on PCs in the same room, get better FPS, and larger screens since we won't need to split screen for local coop.

  • I think I got my first cell phone in 2001 or 2002, it was a Kyocera 2135, or another similar model from Kyocera. My first PC is an Acer with a 75 MHz with 8 mb of RAM, came preinstalled with Windows 3.1. My family got it maybe 8 months before Windows 95 came out.

  • Some background on me, I'm a IT geek, I love technology, I love VR, not a huge fan of apple. I couldn't understand the use case for the Vision Pro, especially given battery life and other odd little limitations. The hardware sounded absolutely amazing, some incredible features, but Apple really wanted to distance the headset from VR, and instead was pushing this weird idea that you'd just sit and use the head in an Augmented Reality style interface for their eco system. Imagine wearing this thing during your child's first birthday in order to capture a 3d video.

It's a shame, but it's a solution looking for a problem. If they would have leaned hard into the incredible hardware to be a killer VR headset too, that may have helped a little bit. But as everyone else is saying.... I'm not surprised by this outcome.
