European Union trade with Israel's illegal settlements: Letter by 163 NGOs and trade unions to President von der Leyen

  • You would have to imagine this is a conservative estimate given it is coming from the UN. If they do anything other than conservative* estimates they are accused of bias or whatever.

  • Not really, the largest protest in US history was the Women's march in 2017 a day after his inauguration, which I imagine they are taking some inspiration from. You could definitely argue that if these people did these same demonstrations against Biden for not stepping down and it forced the Dems to actually hold a primary it might have done something, but outside of that neither Biden or Harris was gonna win the election knowing what we know now. So I don't really think "a little too late" applies, these people wouldn't have been willing to protest Biden largely and are mostly doing this to show their disapproval for Trump and his anti women policies similarly to the last time. Obviously people to the left of Democrats will be protesting to show their support for Palestine and their disapproval for Trump for a variety of issues, but they will be in the minority as there are a lot less of them than liberals upset with Trump.

  • Abacus Data found that Quebec was the province with the highest proportion of respondents (77 per cent) saying they are "absolutely against."

No surprises here, I'm not gonna do the math, but that might push Anglo Canada up to a 1/3 open to it or something along those lines.

  • Droidify is a client of F-Droid, I wouldn't say either is better, it's preference.

  • I imagine they just want to recommend something already on F-Droid, and, I also imagine the IronFox people will start releasing on F-Droid directly soon vs having a added repo. But, adding the repo is not hard.

  • I don't know if you're keeping up with things, but RFK seems like one of his biggest issues is shit in the food, talking about banning corn syrup etc, so I kinda doubt it.

  • I don't think a blues man would ever lie, there is a code of honor among cats like him.

  • I wouldn't classify him as a "good thing", Trump says he will get rid of daylight savings, which is mostly agreed upon to be a positive in terms of people's health and safety, but I wouldn't say that makes Trump a "good thing".

It's possible he could cause a lot of harm in some aspects and then do beneficial things in other aspects. People don't just do strictly "good" things and other people do strictly "bad" things.

  • Owned by someone almost no one likes, shoves 1000s of ads down your throat, can't even look at something someone else sent you because you don't have an account. Why are people leaving???

  • You are a sad sad little person. Just block me. You can very clearly tell I am not a bot account, I comment on posts. Fuck off.

Just because you don't like the articles it doesn't mean they are "spam". Someone with 0 posts and 100 comments complaining about "spam", you don't contribute to this website and then tell other people not too, seems like you would happier somewhere else. God forbid someone posts too many links to a link aggregating website.

  • It is topical, you would know that if you read the article as declassified files were released in 2024, that showed Ethel was not a spy, no one is arguing her husband wasn't a spy, so yes it is relevant to ask for a posthumous pardon after evidence was revealed this year that she had nothing to do with it and the government at the time knew that, but chose to execute her anyways.

An NSA codebreaker’s 1950 assessment reveals Ethel Rosenberg knew of her husband’s espionage but ‘did not engage in the work herself’ — despite this, the US sent her to die in the electric chair, writes ANDREW TUCKER
