  • Okay, I edited my original post. I had the timeline slightly off in regards to which events took place and when, since both of those things occurred in 2022.

I consider your overall argument that Trump had been under investigation for January 6th from the very start to be thoroughly refuted at this point. It took two years for them to start - fact. Plenty of concrete evidence to back that claim up. Stop calling it misinformation.

  • Brother, your source backs up my claim, but hey, here's another just in case. In the DOJ investigation related to Jan 6th (not the classified documents case), Trump was specifically NOT a target. The scope expanded in 2022 to also include DJT and his inner circle.

Meaning, of course, that for the first two years of Biden's presidency, they were not actively investigating Trump's role in inciting the mob that attacked the capitol, or his deliberate inaction when the situation became out of control and capitol police could not stop the mob from breaking into the congressional chambers.

  • Not misinformation.

The initial investigation by the FBI/DOJ specifically did not include Trump as a target. This was a purposeful omission, the justice department prioritized identifying and capturing 700 individuals who actually set foot in the capitol.

But as we all know, it's possible for the justice department to do more than one thing at a time. They could have opened the second investigation into Trump's involvement immediately, rather than waiting for all of the stooges to get plea deals. They didn't. Five minutes of Googling could have told you that Merrick Garland did not open an investigation into Trump's involvement (by appointing Special Council Jack Smith) until three days after Trump announced his intention to run for reelection in 2024. That was on November 18th 2022.

Make all the excuses you like for Garland, but he fucked us big time. The timing of the prosecution was extremely strategic and not coincidental. He waited until he knew that Trump would receive political cover in his reelection bid to start a real, earnest investigation. Republican swine looking out for one another.

Biden should have insisted that the investigation into Trump begin immediately. If he refused, can his ass and bring in someone with some teeth. Trump would be in prison right now if this had all begun in 2021.

  • What’s an example of Garland deferring to decorum?

Not immediately starting the investigation into what happened on Jan 6th 2021 is unconscionable. The fact that it took him 2 years into Biden's term to even allow prosecution of the case out of fear that if it was done any sooner it might give the appearance of political retaliation means that Americans were denied timely justice.

Luigi Mangione shot a healthcare CEO in the back of the head and was in court by the end of the week.

Donald Trump committed the most brazen and public act of sedition ever and still walks free to this day, over 4 years later.

If you were to ask the founding fathers what they thought the most serious crimes in a free nation ought to be, they would have said treason, followed by murder. But we sure don't seem to fucking treat these two crimes with anywhere near the same severity.

  • Reminder that California pays the highest federal taxes in the country and has never once complained about the cost of rebuilding in Florida despite annual devastating hurricanes or rebuilding in "tornado alley" despite frequent devastating tornadoes. People keep rebuilding their houses there and we never say shit.

Californians did not build their houses in wildfire country, they built them in areas that were previously safe and have now become tinderboxes thanks to climate change. It's not our fault that we are stuck holding the bag, but at least have the common courtesy of extending us the exact same aid money we send out to other high risk areas.

  • My last picture in my saved images folder is a snip of my screen. My prompt got featured on Prequel Comic! Finally, after like, 10 years of submitting commands and I just happened to check for updates and saw my name at the top.

I kind of regret that specific prompt getting picked now though, because I thought the spider character was on an elevator traveling downwards, but I went back a page and realized that it was a camera/animation trick and they weren't actually moving down. And yet, the artist still picked me for some reason anyway. Whatever, I'll take it!

  • That no longer matters, because the President is immune to civil suits. Since they seem so reluctant to throw him in jail, I'd be shocked if he even bothers to show up to the hearing.

Yeah, the American people fucked up big time if they thought that there were any remaining guardrails keeping Trump accountable. We just made him a king, and if you disagree he could publicly order you to be murdered and suffer zero consequences because the courts and congress are incapable of holding him accountable.

  • Tesla's have the absolute worst resale value compared to ICE, PHEV or Hybrids. Batteries degrade over time and with increased usage, so by the time you try to sell a Tesla that's a few years old, a lot of the advertised maximum capacity has escaped from that battery and the cost of a replacement likely exceeds the value of the entire used car.

Two of my coworkers got fantastic deals on used Tesla's because they go for so cheap on the secondary market and California is awash in them so there's always someone somewhere trying to get rid of theirs and usually for less that what it would normally blue book for.

  • My best guess? Probably another primate. Bonobos and Chimpanzees seem like the ideal candidate to take over the husk of Human civilization the quickest. Another species might have a shot, but then it's a question of how many millions of years it's going to take for them to evolve and if they can survive the cataclysmic events that will no doubt hit Earth in the meantime.

If not primates, I would bet on one of the following species:

Corvidae - Extremely intelligent, highly adaptable, tool-users, social, pass down their knowledge to offspring.

Canis Familiaris - Highly social, apex predators, genetically diverse, spread throughout every corner of the world.

Loxodonta - Extremely intelligent, highly social, adaptable, builders and tool-users, long lifespans.

  • I was just talking about this with a friend the other day, but it's really not worth it to go to these fast food places anymore even if you do like the food. I remember when, speaking to my friend, we would go to BK in high school and get a couple of "buck doubles", because Burger King used to run a promotion where you could get two double cheeseburgers for two dollars. It was honestly a great deal. Then the shrinkflation kicked in and over time the size of the food became smaller and smaller. Then, the actual currency inflation hit, and fast food companies used the increased price of beef, chicken and other such ingredients as an excuse to gouge the hell out of their prices. Now, if I were to go to BK and get my usual fare, I would be lucky to leave paying less than $16. For like, $4 extra (not including tip) I could go to the Chili's across the street and get an actual restaurant quality burger, and a side, and a beverage and be more than satisfied.

These fast food places are completely off their rocker if they think these prices are reasonable. Inflation is going down, so we as consumers need to stop buying their shit so they can't justify keeping prices so insanely high. McDonalds and other fast food places are the biggest bulk purchaser of raw ingredients, so you bet that they have an insane amount of negotiating power to convince farmers and ranchers to supply the stuff they need for below market rate in bulk quantities.

If you are really craving that unique fast food flavor that you can only get at your favorite chain, let me tell you, there are YouTube channels with copycat recipes that can be made quicker and cheaper than the time it takes to drive to the nearest chain location, order, pay, get your food, leave, and come back to your house to eat it. And they taste almost the same or better in most cases because you make it yourself so you can add as much of the flavorful stuff as you want.

  • It's incredible that this guy has signaled that he's not going to punish Trump at all - no fine, no jail time, not even a slap on the wrist. AND STILL Trump is railing on the guy. Is he really that stupid to tempt fate?
