  • Yep. Asexuality and aromanticism define a lack of a type of attraction. There are a lot of different ways to group attraction types but here is one of the most common ones.

Libido is entirely seperate and in many cases is only somewhat related. Of course, there are plenty of ace people like you too. But personally all of the ace people I know are the horniest people in my friend group. Not finding anyone sexually attractive doesn't stop a person from being a theoretical slut.

  • To clear up my initial comment.

...the whole "funding a genocide" thing...

Also yes, imprisoning a civilian population in a location and then bombing that location is genocide. They are clearly and deliberately exterminating civilians. The fact that we didn't remove all support the instant they started doing that is appalling.

Also before you even start with the whole "hamas is using the cavilians as human shields." Yes, they are. But that doesn't mean Israels solution of "kill them all and let god sort them out" is remotely acceptable.

  • The annoying thing is they also get really insistent that it is a scam even when it's not. My grandma (an old lady) always buys a mountain of giftcards every year for christmas just because it's a big family and that makes for easy christmas gifts. Every year she has to argue with someone that, no she isn't getting scammed and they are actually for christmas gifts. You would think stores would be a little more lax on that around the holidays but aparently not.

  • A lot of times they will eventually pull themselves out of the spin without any interaction from the pilot. The question is if that will happen before the pilot is unconscious or dead from the G forces which is why they still eject when it happens.

  • Just nationalize them. If the government has to bail them out then then the government just bought them. If a company is too big to fail then it's too big to be privately owned.

  • I only do the refrigeration side of things and I don't do residential stuff so I'm not sure on exact pricing. Pricing will also vary greatly depending on the exact area. For example in my area we have a high enough ground water level that open loop geothermal is easy and that is the cheapest/easiest method of geothermal. The other types will also vary in cost depending on soil type and moisture content because that will partially dictate how big of a ground loop you need. The amount of area you have for a ground loop will also be a big factor because if you don't have enough yard area for a horizontal loop then you need to use a vertical loop which can be heniously expensive.

As far as payback goes they are far more expensive to install regardless of the type but the ground loop (assuming closed loop system) can easily last over 50 years and that is the most expensive part of the whole system by a large margin. Out of the $25,000 you mentioned I would bet that about $20,000 of that was just for the ground loop. The rest of the system is going to be more durable as well due to not being outdoors. The expected lifespan of the other components is 20 years and they can easily last far longer than that. So the energy savings is only part of the cost savings. The other part is that geothermal heat pumps need practically no maintenance and break down far more rarely than any other conventional heating or cooling solution. With how long they last and how durable they are a geothermal heat pump can probably pay itself off just with avoided service calls.

  • Ah. The bigger air rifles aren't that common in the US (because you could just get a normal rifle almost as easily) so I was assuming it was a regular rifle. Yeah, the shooter should have definitely noticed then.

Obviously we don't have all the details but to hit the kid center of mass and kill him with an air rifle it seems hard to belive that was entirely accidental. A .22 air rifle only has an effective range of about 50 yards. There's no way the shooter didn't see the kid when they pulled the trigger let alone hear the ATV. I'm wondering if the shooter deliberately shot at the kid for trespassing thinking an air rifle wouldn't do any real damage. A lot of people don't realize how much damage air rifles can do. At the same time though .177 is the normal target shooting air rifle caliber and the most common one. The only reason you would specifically buy a .22 caliber air rifle is for hunting so the shooter should have known what it was capable of.

  • If you don't want to go deaf really quickly you should be wearing ear protection while shooting. If they were then I doubt they could have heard the ATV. If they weren't wearing hearing protection then they were probably too deaf to hear anything anyways.

  • I bought starsector but I have no idea what my actual key is anymore so I always just use the key from SsethTzeentach's video on it. So it's technically piracy but from what I've heard the Starsector dev doesn't care that people just use that key because that video and the key being released publicly made their sales go way up anyways. They're one of the few devs that realizes that piracy doesn't actually hurt their sales.

  • Copyright doesn't matter for AI training data because that AI is considered a derivitive work therefor using whatever content they find for training data is fair use under current copyright law. People are literally training AI on Pixar content without copyright being an issue.

Also if you don't want people using your stuff then why are you posting it in the open in a public board that basically everyone has access to? If you want to protect something then the first step would be not handing it to everyone and everything with an internet connection.
