  • Successful communist government would encourage more communist revolutions. It's not completely mad.

The US largely fought in Vietnam to keep France in NATO. It stayed after France gave left because it didn't want communism to spread.

  • When I said Gaza wants Israeli gone, it was probably an over simplification. They would probably be happy without the Israeli boot on their neck. If that's a one state or two state solution. Being recognised as citizens with rights is probably the desire of most Palestinians.

  • There isn't many times when either side wants the war. They usually want something else and the war is the result of one side doing something and the other stopping them.

Everyone wants peace, every war is fought for peace. It's just the type of peace that causes war.

Israel doesn't want war, they want all of the people in Gaza gone. Gaza doesn't want war, they want Israelis gone. Both have a preference for peace, just not a peace both sides will agree to.

Of course some defense companies and those that seek violence want war. But nations and most people don't. Wars never great.

  • Campaign donations limits should be linked to minimum wage. Something like 2% of full time minimum wage salary after taxes. This would make influence over political parties more democratic.

Also limit donations to eligible voters, to party's/candidates that they can vote for.

  • There is a genetic Adam and Eve. However, I don't think they existed at the same time. These were humans, not just apes/mammals/animals/bacteria. We are all distantly related.

We are also more related to mushrooms than trees are to mushrooms.

  • They are often sold to non-tech people as fire sticks.

    There general use case is:

    1. You buy a fire stick from Amazon.
    2. You give it to someone that 'hacks' them.
    3. You transfer money to an account and are provided login credentials.

The 'hack' is just enabling side loading on the Amazon stick and downloading an IP client. Takes two minutes and is easily done, but people charge £50 for it. You can do it yourself if you already have access to an IPTV provider.

The difficult thing to do online is get access to the IPTV provider to purchase such a service. They don't have any public online presence. They manage and sell their services through group chat apps like discord, telegram and some lesser know equivalent apps. The online way to get access to them is through someone you know.

Refering people to these services is actively encouraged. The providers often offer discounts/free periods if you referral makes a purchase.

The use of these services in the UK is so endemic that football channels now frequently advertise VPNs. Because it encouraged by the vendors of these IPTV sellers.

These services are not legal. So there is little recourse if the quality of service is bad or they sell your account details to someone. They also don't spend much on infrastructure, so you the streaming quality is often limited to 720p and will struggle to serve during sporting popular sporting events.

No one is going to offer you it on here. Most people in this sub will be able to get better quality downloads for free. They also don't want a public record of them using or distribution such service.

I don't use them and don't recommend them, I also don't like live sports which is their biggest selling point. As live sports is very expensive as so much is broken up between different legal providers.

If you don't know anyone that uses them, you'll have to make some friends. Best place is sport events/pubs.

  • It's more likely Google has paid them.

There would have to be a court case and ruling before Apple could be threatened with a fine. For messaging this isn't the case (so far). Apple doesn't restrict access to messaging apps. You can install iMessage competitors.

The RCS apple is implementing is Google's standard. That they control and have restricted access to. So far only Google, Samsung and Apple have been allowed to use it.

  • You do need a messenger app. Google wants you believe you don't but you do.

It's baked into Google messages and Samsung messages (Samsung messages is just rebranded Google messages). It pre installed and defaulted if the person you tried to text can receive it.

Google RCS goes through the internet, not carrier networks. Most likely Google jibe service. Which you carrier may have Google implement for them, if not it will default to Google's own jibe service.

  • Google's paying for it and Apple's going to be using jibe.

It the same shit as Google being the default search on safari and iPhone.

    Data scraping and advertising dollars.

Google currently has very limited insight about iPhone users messaging habits. iPhone users are using apple's iMessage, SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, telegram, signal, discord, slack etc. Most of which have limited Google interactions. On Android Google at least gets some info from third party messaging services. Like use time, installation, stored data size etc. On iPhone they can only scrap through search and Gmail.

Google has been trying to crack the messaging space for a while. They keep dropping messaging apps because they haven't been able to get the mass adoption. They've found their solution with RCS.

Take a open protocol that no carriers will seriously implement. Adapt it to your needs and restrict acces to it (no third party apps only Google and limited second party like Samsung). Create the implementation (jibe) give it to the carriers. When carriers don't do it, make a fallback to jibe in the messenger app. Unlike apple, Google messaging service is hard to notice - therefore easier to slip by. RCS messages have small text only at the start and a slightly different shade of blue.

Once it's established on Android. Publicly shame apple for not using your open standard, where most messages run through your server. Privately pay them for adoption and ensure it meshes with your version of the open standard. Taking away one of the last reasons the messenger app on android has to avoid Google by default.

  • Google flat out doesn't allow it. Not even side loaded.

RCS isn't the open standard Google claims it to be. They don't allow anyone to make an RCS app that isn't Google or an approved manufacturer. They also control the majority of the back end infrastructure with their Jibe service.

You would be hard pressed to find someone using RCS that doesn't have some of their conversations going through Google's service.

Google was pressuring Apple to move to RCS as it would give Google more data about iPhone users, as most of their chats would go through Google's Jibe servers. This would help more conversations from SMS, WhatsApp, telegram and signal to RCS. This open standard is Google getting serious about being the messaging monopoly.

If Apple is series about privacy for their users they will implement their own RCS server infrastructure and compete with Jibe. Giving carriers more options in providing RCS service. While also pushing all iPhone users through their own servers.

If Apple isn't implementing their own RCS server infrastructure it'll be because Google is paying them to use RCS and leave it dependent on Google. Essentially making the default messaging service on Android and iPhone Jibe RCS.

  • Enough don't avoid it.

It allows them to scrap more data and push their web services. It also gives them leverage in web standards completion. The have a browser and user base that they can diverge from chrome.

With the revelations coming out due to the court cases. Microsoft might be (or at least aiming to) get a cut of Google revenue like apple gets for safari users. Google is probably very happy that edge (which is 99% chrome) is the default in most desktops.

  • It's not a bonus. It was explicitly designed to reduce cam out. It is a flaw.

Torque limits can be managed with the type of diver used. Screw drivers are limited by human hand motion, wrenches by length and electric drivers by power/clutch/gearing.

If you wanted limited torque application you change the method of driving, not the drive head. Mr Philip would understand this and everyone he sold it to would as well.

There are few use cases where you would want to limit torque by camming out and potentially damaging the screw, component or operator. Stripped screws are a nightmare for everyone involved.
