Shocking that a town in the middle of arid turkey had a higher consumption of plant-based materials that don't spoil as easily when compared to a more coastal or metropolitan environment that had better access to live markets.
Also, by plant-based do you mean that the diet can include meat-based sources of nutrition as long as that's not the main source?
I am not saying that plant heavy diets are bad. On the contrary, I live with one but I still eat meat eggs and dairy and would expect ancient Romans with spending money such as Gladiators to do the same.

Actually they banned me because I told them they would be better off focusing their energy on harm reduction. Rather than protesting for the complete abolition of farming. Sensible stuff like developing better meat substitutes rather then calling people who drink milk rapists and murderers... As far as I'm aware, like 90% of the people that eat meat would prefer there to be minimal and or no suffering at all. I mean from a purely selfish point, the less stress in the animal the better. The meat is going to taste better the better the animal lives, stress, hormones, taste like shit.
