  • The Wisconsin GOP plan to overturn an election - FTFY. A lot of Wisconsonites are avidly, actively against this, it's just that gerrymandering has diluted their vote.

  • I was sticking with the 'one website'. Thanks for adding my second post. ;-)

    Here's another: https://libgen.is/ - Library Genesis

  • A letter of marque came from the king

  • DOJ should def. have a chat with Mr. Huck. I mean really, like today. Tomorrow would be too late.

  • Cool, the study was done at the University of North Sumatra. I'm adding it to my archive. Thanks!!

From the Abstract/ Conclusion: "All three type of masks such as surgical mask, N95 mask, and carbon mask was effective to reduce CO levels from air pollution with the most significant was N95 and carbon mask. Fabric mask has the poorest protection from CO levels."

I'm surprised at the N95 being effective. And expect the best results would come from a fresh, well fitted, carbon filter. As for myself, I do my best to ride where the motor vehicles are not present. Our town, like many, has a decent bike/ walking trail system.

  • So cute!

This is part of an ongoing, active effort to restore "wētāpunga, the largest of 11 species of giant wētā", and other species. "Last Wednesday just over 300 juvenile wētāpunga were released onto two islands in the Bay of Islands, where community conservation group Project Island Song has been working for almost 20 years to restore native flora and fauna."

  • Where I live used to be ponderosas and grassland, till about 400 years ago. I just wondered about the name.

  • Did they cut down all the trees? I know a town, whose name translated to English is Timber. I found out about the town just before the old lumber mill burned down. There are very few trees there. :-(

  • Defensible space is crucial. Sounds like what saved their house was defensible space and a metal roof.

My neighbor has a cabin up in the mountains. During the pandemic he and his brother spent a lot of time clearing brush, nearby trees, etc to make their cabins safer. Turns out wind blew a tree into a power line which started a fire. And tho' the fire got close, their cabins were spared. LoL, also they had a neighbor who put the wifi SSID and Password on a sign outside his cabin. So the firefighters, in the area for another fire, were always nearby checking their email, etc. When that fire started there were a whole bunch of fire fighters on it before 2 hours had gone by. Remember to help those who might be able to help you.

A guy I talked with had bought a house in a forested area. The house had a cistern that collected water off the roof. He set up a pump, and one of those big irrigation 'water cannon' things. If he has to evac., then he'll flip a switch, which will drench his house and the surrounding area till the cistern is empty.

  • I remember seeing Trailer Trash Barbie, and Cross Dress Ken back in the 90s. Perhaps it was from BLO, or just inspired by them. All the same it was great! And inspired all sorts of conversation. Yay Art!

  • If so, then it should be for all voters. Otherwise one is creating different classes of voters. We've already tried that, and it didn't turn out well.
