  • Oh, there are tons of distros where you don't need to use the terminal for anything, even Manjaro, an arch based distro, doesn't need you to ever open the terminal. I was just saying that if adoption is the goal then using the terminal can't be a requirement for a normal user experience.

  • If Linux wants to ever have adoption outside tech people then it can't be. If a normide has to open up a terminal then that's already one less Linux user.

I have used Linux for my main PC for a very long time but I have also worked in tech support and your average user will never ever use an OS where using the terminal is mandatory.

I my opinion there should be some hobbyist distros where the terminal is your daily experience like Arch or Gentoo but the main focus should be accessibility for the average user if adoptability is a goal.

  • Oh, yea, the Ukrain military has a bit of a nazi problem but the time to deal with that is not when you are being invaded. Also the nazi talking point is mostly a red herring anyways since the nazi problem in Russia is magnitudes worse and isn't limited to their military.

So it's technically not wrong but tankies don't really have a problem with nazies, otherwise they wouldn't be defending Russia, they are anti USA and will side with anything that's even close to that side with no regards to any other belief. I'm not a fan of the US either but I'm not going to blindly support anything against it either.

  • Some alien life definitely exists, the universe is a pretty big place after all. There is also zero chance they have come to earth. Such conspiracies need too many people to keep silent and if the US had known about aliens Trump would have tweeted about it.

  • Nazi and fascist have different meanings in Russia. They mean people working against the interests of Russia, it originates from the USSR. For example the gay community was labeled fascist during the soviet occupation here.

  • Like complaining about attacks on LGBT people while supporting Russia and the USSR seems just the most hypocritical thing I can think of. Does he not know Stalin mandated a 5 year minimum forced labor sentence in Siberia for being gay and Russia today is only mildly better for LGBT people.

  • Not really. Hamas has done some awful shit but Israel and Russia are in a different league of bad. I'm sure if Hamas had the weapons and money Israel does it would be worthy competition but as it stands they just aren't in the running.

  • If they manage to occupy Ukraine they'll probably win the warcrime game but yea currently they can just torture and kill POWs and try to bomb civilians from far away. At the start of the war they were definitely winning on war crimes with the civilian mass graves.

  • There are people who go crazy with cast iron pans, seasoning and whatnot. I have had the same cast iron pan for around 30 years and I washed it by hand like all the other dishes before I had a dishwasher and now I wash it in a dishwasher, it works the same all these years.

  • You could in the past. About 6 years ago or so the top 3 results were almost always correct.

Currently you can't because of the AI generated content that gets things wrong the same way as using an AI as a search engine.
