  • Was expecting a pre-planned power outage at 9:00am, got a message around 7:00am saying the work was complete, a bit surprising, but looked at the electricity suppliers outage site, and sure enough, nothing planned for us. Guess what happened at 9:00am, yep, a power outage, ha, ha!!

  • That’s a difficult question given I don’t know what you might expect in a comedy drama. The comedy is VERY dark, the humour is from the clever use of dialog, plus over-the-top violence that really would normally only ever be shown in horror movies, but in there fits perfectly to the amazingly interlinked story line.

I’d suggest you give it a look if you can, then decide. I couldn’t guess the outcome until a few minutes from the end of the series.

I feel It’s the best thing I’ve seen in either a tv series or movies for a very long while

  • Watched a new BBC drama yesterday. It’s called Boat Story and is a VERY dark comedy/crime tale about two dog walking strangers finding a wrecked fishing boat on the beach full of cocaine.

Here’s a review from the Guardian.

Definitely not for younger viewers. Found it on the High Seas.

  • Having a partial knowledge of something, of course will allow the opportunity for someone to form an opinion about it. But not knowing anything, and yet still forming such an opinion, does seem a bit out of place to me.

  • Not knowing about something is surely very different than being wrong about it. Being wrong to me means not having, or believing, correct and established knowledge about that subject.

I am always open for new input and never try to bluff my way past an unknown.

  • We have lots of Swan plants kept for the Monarchs, unfortunately the caterpillars encourage the German wasps, which can be a bit aggressive when passing nearby. However, the Swan plants are somewhat invasive, so need ongoing managing.

  • It was very windy and heavy downpours overnight up here in the Far North. The rain seemed to come in phases, once it eased for a bit, easily went back to sleep. We’re lucky in being down the west side of a ridge, so were more sheltered there. It’s gone lighter now (11:00am), no rain and a lot less windy. Could be we’re currently in the eye of the storm.

  • Just looked at the weather (8:30 Saturday) and boy, up here in the Far North looks like we’re in for a wet spell tonight, then Sunday/Monday the whole of the North Island looks like it’ll be wet and very windy. Hope it isn’t too bad for everyone.

Her name was Lola, she was a cyclone …

  • Here’s a link to a site that shows electricity costs at towns and cities across NZ - Link

I live in the highest price area, and just saw that Top Energy are claiming that their electricity is now 100% carbon neutral. Shame about the price.

  • Hope the ‘Rona isn’t causing you all too much discomfort. I’m sure the baking of the cake, and making the invitations was all part of their fun. The being in isolation part is good guidance for protecting others as well as themselves.

  • Saw it was likely to rain later today, so decided to mow the grass this morning. Boy, what great timing, finished the grass, put everything away, and 10 minutes later, down it came. Was I lucky, I think so 👌
