  • Fully agreed, and apparently this is rare. Marry me! lol.

  • Thanks, though I've already watched it and... KFH is light years ahead! I really look forward to KFH 2.

  • Man, I sure learned a lot about bouncer life from all this—like how it's absolutely not for me! Kudos to you and your group for your collective work, and stay safe out there; no more fractured ribs!

  • Well, an additional problem with this Lenovo ThinkPad is that its "A" key is coming loose if not pressed on the rightmost side. I've also dropped it 3x from over a foot's distance (knocked off a table, etc.), which damaged its Bluetooth receiver. So I'm wondering if it's even still worth maintaining...

It's definitely got 2×256 GB SSDs in it, though they're also all from 2016-17, hence my predicament of sorts...

  • Interesting, thanks, I'll have to check it out! I did think it was kind of strange that Akira wasn't the focus, but I wondered if it might've been something like "The Legend of Zelda" focusing on Link, haha.

  • I still contend that you're misusing the phrase "cause and effect" and that it's not "broken," because there is a clear cause: greed. Selfishness causes people to try to take ownership of goods or services to which they didn't contribute—and the effect is compensation not reaching its correct owners.

That cause-&-effect is very consistent to me. Nothing's broken there. The concept itself is fine; the problem is the abusers and manipulators using it in a negative way. So your real enemy is greed and intellectual theft.

I demand greater rigor from the latter because it is the system by which we run our society etc.

Sure, but you can't really enforce that demand since you're not a king of the land or something. You'd need to get into politics and stop lobbyists or something.

What is the proper approach to winning a broken game?

Counterpoint: why do you need to "win?" Why not fight with fairness, and do what you can to ensure that the producers around you receive what they're due, even if you may end up receiving less as a result?

  • You already explained it here so it's fine. With that said, though, I would say in general that giving examples (the more, the better) is equivalent to defending, as any relatable example gives any given claim more merit.

  • I think these were before Kung Fury, but Kung Fu Hustle is one of my favorite action comedies, and Akira is a total trip as well. Another mind@#$% that's really not in the comedic genre at all (although maybe not as random as you're seeking) is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I've gotta rewatch all of these...

  • Don't tempt me... or else I'll have to take you down with my SPAS-12!

  • You can make albums of whatever you want. Influencers show off themselves and/or their products or services. One of my friends posts landscape photos. Another shares photos of photos (the Droste effect). Others post their artwork. Do it!

  • Thankfully, 2FA means this doesn't really matter, although revealed PWs should be changed eventually.

  • How do I upvote and downvote something at the same time?

  • I might prefer to just not know, then. Again, bullying is typically public so it's also almost guaranteed to be embarrassing, which is an additional negative effect. Deception could just involve only you and the deceiver over something specific for which they might even have some semblance of a reason or motive.

  • It's fine for me on mobile, and I'm glad that the "I" has horizontal lines. So many scammers adopt fake usernames by using an "I" (capital "i") instead of an "l" (lowercase "L") and vice versa.

  • I wonder how it works. Maybe it has to do with the intentional varying of the sizes of holes in letters, and the lopsided lines so one can't be confused as another.

  • As a middle-schooler back then, I already disliked my own appearance, so I didn't know where I stood. I haven't been deceived often; in fact, I can't remember more than one major instance. I think the bullying was more damaging as it was so brazen as to not mind even other passersby noticing. I've still struggled with my appearance ever since.

Only people with a certain minimum self-confidence know where they "stand." I think for everyone else, bullying can be worse.

  • Too bad it can't handle private messages apart from reading; you can't even easily mark them as read. The interface is mostly excellent, though, and hey, I'm using it for this comment right now.

  • Big reason I'm done with sync paid software.

  • They're still multigenerational; Reddit captures lots of Gen Z members, and I've also seen people self-proclaimed as being in their 60s on here.

Regardless, the most important thing is to generate decent content. On my end, I've been doing what I like the most, which is making communities of topics that I think merit them, and trying to discuss anything as I like, despite any concern about a lack of response.
