  • I enjoy it as well, I also love how reliable it is, it's been around longer than software it's currently running(Mbin). The same admin also runs infosec.exchange, a pretty well known Mastodon instance

  • Thanks for creating it! Are you aware of the newly created !fdroid@programming.dev ? Maybe these two could consolidate? And lemdroid seems as the more appropriate instance

  • And the source is..? Random Twitter account? How is it even allowed there?

  • so Mastodon, Peertube, BookWyrm, etc.

https://poliverso.org/ is a pretty well-managed Italian Friendica instance

  • I don't think it's something limited to Fedi, but internet in general. The whole social media "algorithm" promotes such posts, an edgy extreme post filled with hate will get more reactions and upvotes, than a "lame" conventional opinion, so you're more likely to see it. I am not sure how to even fix it, I think it's one of the fundamental problems if the internet, but this is how it is

AFAIK it will be coming for self-hosters in 6.0

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

The social web beta is here

  • I can access it without problems from Israel

  • It's basically the same as Reddit karma, it's just the sum of upvotes+downvotes you got

If it doesn't even affect anything, I don't see why I would care lol

Same, idc, but some people care about it. Also piefed cares, I think it puts a red icon in the username of the users with negative reputation and their posts start with 0 upvotes instead of 1. (If I'm not mistaken)

  • How's my Mbin karma

It's 2500~, but it doesn't affect anything on Mbin, so there's no point worrying about it

  • Why not just try all of them out and see which one you like the most? I personally like Mbin the most, but you may like another one. I don't think anything is stopping you from creating test accounts (And you don't need extensive time, I imagine it would take a few hours at most)

  • I'm Jewish myself and I completely agree with you.. Sadly it exists on a pretty much every social media, but BlueSky has a unique feature called sharable block lists/mute lists, I believe they call it "stacked moderation", I've subscribed to a few of those and it has blocked 90% of antisemites/terrorism sympathisers, I kinda wish some Fedi platform would have a similar feature as well

  • Interesting, for me it's the opposite, I pretty much exclusively use "Subscribed" feed and almost never go to "All", because a lot of it is just stuff I don't care about

  • @melp@beehaw.org There's this Lemmy post on !peertube@lemmy.wtf listing generic well-federated instances, but if you don't care about the ability to follow other PeerTube channels from it, I'm pretty sure you can use pretty much any instance and it doesn't really matter.

Ironically my CherryPick instance used to have it's own Peertube instance, but they've closed it sadly
