  • I hope GTK and GNOME (or is GTK part of GNOME?) adopt this, I didn't even know just how bad the inefficiency with todays cursors is. Having a single svg for each cursor and rendering it server-side makes so much more sense.

Did someone already open an issue for this?

  • I think this makes sense. I still need X11 for VR because GNOME still doesn't have display leasing on Wayland but once that gets implemented I won't be using X11 anymore. I think most people don't need X11 anymore either. For people like me who still need it for specific things, it can just be installed again manually.

  • Monero actually has very good uses. It does use POW but their algorithm is made to encourage using CPUs instead of GPUs and slower, power efficient devices, which makes it a lot less energy intensive than other POW cryptocurrencies.

  • But I think espeak doesn't sound that great. There is probably better open source TTS now.

  • Yeah, that makes sense. Does kinda suck.

  • You can't really apply that to every messenger and WhatsApp is what's used almost exclusively

  • I think they'll still work without Steam, otherwise you couldn't play them offline either

  • Performance isn't the only issue. This system would also not let you play offline, without being logged in and you couldn't have mutliple saves or replay the game.

  • You could install it without a desktop and then manually install only the packages for Plasma with Wayland but idk if that'a really worth the effort

  • It's actually 0.6 FPS or 1.6 SPF (Seconds per frame)

  • It's really cool how a lot of Laptops nowadays (including mine) have a feature built-in that covers and disables the webcam with a button press. I can have it disabled most of the time and when I need it, I just press the button to enable it.

  • That's really cool. I also heard about a Skyrim mod that does this too and since I'm playing Skyrim in VR (modded ofc) that would make it even cooler.

  • I think that those people might actually think that what they're doing is good for the country and that that's what people want

  • If you're interested in KDE in particular, you should also check out Nicco Loves Linux. He's one of the KDE developers and makes a lot of videos about it.

  • Interesting. Still sucks that they don't give you the option to choose a cloud provider for this but I didn't expect them to just let you use your PC.

  • This is very interesting, I think I'll try that out. I wanted to give GIMP a real try at some point anyway.

  • YouTube Vanced was DMCA'd because they distributed the whole apk, which is why Revanced exists and only applies patches to a YouTube apk you have to get yourself

  • Do you know how big those two Wikipedia downloads are?

  • It's just in case you have issues with the headset not getting detected, the cable can become a little loose and you might need to press it into where it connects to the headset

  • My bad, for some reason I thought you were using Jellyfin on the Pi but you're actually using Kodi so that makes sense
