  • Good riddance, fuck TERF island. If communities don't like this change they can move to an instance that isn't filled with and supported by transphobes.

  • Thank you Kaity!

  • On mine I had to use a BIOS flasher tool since it was locked and Dev mode wasn't allowed to be enabled (think it was due to enterprise enrollment), though flashing the image directly worked like a charm following the unbricking guide.

  • Tip, you can put full Linux on most chromebooks and chromeos devices. I've done it before mrchromebox.tech

  • I never liked doing it. Got in trouble a few times for not doing it, though that didn't matter to me since I got in trouble a lot when I was in school. Those dipshits (the counselor) thought I had "Gender Identity Disorder" and was reacting because of "distress" (Not because I wouldn't say the pledge, I did many worse things than that), they also used the fact that I also had long hair and sometimes would wear a skirt as evidence I had GID. What fun people I spent my childhood with sarcasm I'm glad my parents are and were nice people otherwise I might not be here today.

  • Oh my god I just said this the other day. It would be very funny if that somehow happened and they sent it back to France. We really don't deserve it.

  • That's significantly better than what I was thinking. I thought it was about heart attacks.

  • Heart attack rule?

  • It will. No matter who you are there's something you have or something you do that they don't like, and they'll come after you when they're done with everyone else. Protest and fight now, while you still can.

  • There are some gatekeeping idiots who think the labels will "make trans people seem like a joke" and that'll somehow cause transphobia 🙄

In the end that isn't true, transphobic people are transphobic regardless, because to them the idea of being transgender isn't valid to begin with. So this bullshit of trying to appease them doesn't make sense.

  • There are lots of people who have thinly veiled transphobia and get upset because they feel trans people are trying to control them and their language, at least that's my theory. Probably also outwardly transphobic people too.

  • Shit I didn't know weeb is a slur I just referred to myself as one since I only know anything about Japan from a little bit of Manga and was trying to use it to say I'm not an expert. I'm so sorry I used an offensive term.

  • Just couldn't keep your big mouth shut could you? You just couldn't help debating and arguing with trans people about the validity of allyship as a cis person. Have fun being banned from here, you won't be missed.

  • Sorry it came out wrong, what I mean is that Japan struggles with understanding trans, GNC, and intersex issues so may use words in their language that are wrong or even invaliating. Like using a word for crossdressers to refer to trans people, or using a word for hermaphrodite to describe trans or intersex people. They're used to it and maybe don't mean harm, but they are still hurtful and pejorative terms that don't work so well nowadays, better to use other, more accurate words even if one has to pull them from English. I admit I'm a dumb weeb (not even I don't watch nearly that much anime) but I recognize how harmful some of those words are, and how much they really shouldn't be used.

  • Allyship absolutely needs to be earned, one can't just say they're an ally without supporting us or worse, while saying queerphobic and gatekeeping shit. It's disingenuous to try and argue that it doesn't need to be.

  • I want to say this and make it clear. I as a person with an intersex condition strongly resent and despise the idea of someone calling me a hermaphrodite, it is a demeaning term to refer to intersex people as, as well as completely inaccurate because we are not hermaphrodites. The English word hermaphrodite should not be used to describe a human person in any capacity, to do so is wrong from a scientific and logical standpoint but is also wrong as this word carries extreme pejorative connotations when used against intersex people, and it is straight up transphobic when used against trans women.

So yes I maintain that in 90% or more of the English use cases of it, it is indeed a slur and shouldn't be used. And to describe hermaphrodites it really shouldn't be used to describe any human person. I know that Japan has had problems with trans understanding and acceptance and frankly I don't care. If your language's terms are perjorative due to lack of understanding then use different terms, which from what you said looks like they're already doing, good on them.

  • Check the modlog in Egg_irl, does that answer your question? That's as much as I should help you, you were already banned in the past for arguing and debating what is and isn't queerphobic.

  • You should not be using the term "hermaphrodite" to describe any trans person, in that context it is demeaning and invalidating. Also you should never describe intersex people as "hermaphrodites" we are by in large not hermaphrodites and using this term against us is hurtful and invalidating. Fuck off with this bigoted apologia.
