I was honestly on the fence of getting a MacBook recently as my first newly purchased Laptop, but ultimately decided against it.
Got a fully decked out ThinkPad P14s instead for about 1800€. Meanwhile the new M4 MacBook Pro starts at 1900€. But I agree that Macs still are good value compared other Apple products.
It's the attention span shrinking as time goes by.
I have a brilliant idea actually; a video sharing site with a maximum video length of one second. "How much can you fit in a second? Find out for only $10/month"
Who green lit this? I really hope that person gets fired immediately.
The lack of any visual link to ASUS isn't even the biggest problem for me; it's that ASUS rolls out a program that (presumably) puts itself in autostart by default and just pops up without prompt at all.
Edit: There's a fucking setting in the BIOS to auto-install ASUS' bullshit software? And it's enabled by default.... jesus fucking christ
Same... If you know about his "trip" to Japan you know that he's not exactly passionate about retro gaming either.
I wonder why they chose him, of all people, as their brand ambassador. The rest of their marketing caters heavily towards people who grew up with the original Game Boys, i.e. people who are way to old to even know about this idiot.
It costs almost the same as an Analogue Pocket and has way fewer features.
The Last Game Boy You’ll Ever Buy
No matter how repairable this thing is, I guarantee you that original Game Boys pretty much offer the same level of repairability. I bought all of my GBs (DMG01, GBC, GBA SP) in broken state and repaired them; it's not that hard.
For that price you can almost certainly find original hardware and have fun repairing it. That's what iFixit should advocate for IMO.
I don't know, the whole premise of it being somehow calming or something.
One user once tried to explain his fascination for Drone Doom to me; they said that it had a lot to do with feeling the "weight" of the music. Maybe it's the same with noise? There's something undeniably raw and visceral about it.
Noise Rock can be good, but only because the Rock part re-introduces actual musical elements.
He's totally not doing it to get Trumpf to like him. He's gonna get his own imaginary political role.
