  • Cool story, the jury will still consider it murder.

  • That still would be barred by Bostock v. Clayton County, 590 U.S. 644 (2020). If they do any on that basis they'd instantly get sued. 7/9 of the justices are the same since then. 4 members of the majority remain on the court and the two new appointments both should be predicted to uphold the precedent.

  • This one has been involved in multiple incidents seemingly involving her. They also apparently have a security guard so non zero chance someone was working graveyard shift.

  • Why would you have your default as sort by controversial?

  • They're probably seeing if this was an act of economic terrorism. Feds are big on interstate commerce.

  • The GOA backs him and given his speech at their conference I'm willing to bet he isn't keen on doing that.

  • Put musk in the title so people with filters don't have to be reminded.

  • This is a motion to dismiss not an answer. That's how those work. It is linked to by the journalist in the article.

  • All liberty is guarded by four boxes. The soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box. They are in order.

Political violence is largely a terrible idea that results in continued suffering or retribution. People online flock to it as a remedy and often aren't fully aware of the structure of their local government. The best means of change are by convincing locals of a better alternative that is amiable to all parties. Online activism has a broader net but ultimately reaches less people in positions likely to be able to remedy local matters. Carrot beats stick.

  • Dude touch grass if someone wants to post cringe that's on them but responding to every one of their comments is just harassment.

  • Other comments in this thread reflect a lack of appreciation for the prior system. Once upon a time the king's men could arrest legislators unfavorable to him to bar unfavorable legislation. Today we have legislation barring the arrest of representatives while the house is in session.

  • One day the mountains will crumble to the sea. Just as one day we will all be forgotten to history, and in that it is inalienable. The only question is if that's something you would want or not.

  • How can they listen to the voters if the voters never speak to them. My comment was not on the DNC or RNC but on the core of all forms of representative democracies.

  • Do you know the name of the member of your state's House of Representatives that represents your district? When was the last time you spoke to your federal representative? Do he/she not answer your calls because they have to many constituents? Talk to people in your neighborhood about the need for more representatives in the house.

All sovereign power comes from the people. Read: you are that guy.

  • Both have the loop. I think the thread difference might just be because of the shadow on the right pic and the way the sole of the shoe is somewhat rounded.

  • Shout out to the menial workers at Apple Maps who are going to have a crap day at work tomorrow because of the thing their boss made them do, so they don't get fired and replaced by someone else who would do it.

  • Games @lemmy.world

What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved?
