  • Yeah, would be a tough one to track down for a decent price. I played it via flashcard on my DMG with IPS screen and it was great. Still want a physical copy though..

  • Great Greed!!!

Lighthearted RPG with a really neat combat system, funny writing, and food puns everywhere! So awesome and I never see anyone talk about it.

Shout out to Hungry Goriya for her excellent review on this gem.

  • I don't come here to get personally attacked, alright? The nerve of some people....

  • Some of these aren't that old, but still...

Blades of Time - fun hack & slash

Crosscode - great SNES inspired action rpg

Gianna Sisters - platformer, has co-op

Icey - another hack & slash

Mirror's Edge - first person parkour simulator with a great main character and good story

Psuedoregalia - short indie metroidvania, best movement mechanics of any game in a long time

Transistor - awesome story, interesting mechanics.

  • I'm really liking Pop!_OS, but I am far from an expert. Big draw to me is that is very unWIndowslike as far as UI go. And the auto tiling is slick, but you can implement that on pretty much any distro I believe. I tried EndeavourOS as well, but since it's Arch based it was a bit too different than what I'm used to. I have two VPS running Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and since Pop is Ubuntu based it was more familiar. Pop also has a Nvidia specific image.

The new Debian-based Mint looks neat as well, but for now I'm very content with Pop.

  • I should mention it's not a free app. But it has the best handwriting recognition I've ever seen. I write worse than a toddler and it still converts without fail to the correct text. If I can sync without using Dropbox and Drive, I'd be fine using it as Samsung Notes alternative

  • That's great. Those are precious memories for sure. There's a NES game that was released in 2019 called Micro Mages. Really fun co-op for up to 4 players. My sons and I have gone through it together multiple times and have tried the hard mode, but good grief. Feels impossible! Still fun trying though.

  • The Obsidian plug-in Exaclidraw does support it with a script add on, but seemingly only supports Windows Surface pens...which is lame. Nebo is another app I'm looking at. But it can only sync with Google Drive and Dropbox. I haven't looked into the local files to see if it can manage a Syncthing type scenario between my tablet and phone yet, but I intend to. Nebo's eraser works by holding the s-pen button down and drawing over what you want gone. Not sure if that's exactly what you want. I may have to add a feature request to Saber :)

  • May have to go this route. The excalidraw plugin seems to work reasonably well and I already use Obsidian.

  • That's fair. Certain amount of nostalgia goggles on those titles. I enjoyed it.

  • It can do S-pen notes?

  • Effin' love that game. Still need to go back and try the Castlevania dlc

  • Cyberpunk now that I've figured out that it was my network blocking Steam Cloud saves from syncing. D'oh!

  • Did you play co-op? I've played it fairly recently with my wife and it was fun. That one and Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

  • I tried Yunohost and found the permissions were so restrictive that I couldn't manage to setup my own backup solution on it. Tipi is really neat, but the apps I was interested in were very outdated. I opened an issue on git for it and basically the answer is either wait for someone to port the new version or do it yourself.

So I went back to unRAID and it's been working reliably and is fairly easy, just not a one click install like Tipi can be.

  • I've finally settled on Duplicacy. I've tried several CLI tools, messed with and love rclone, tried the other GUI backup tools, circled back to Duplicacy.

I run a weekly app data backup of my unRAID docker containers, which is stored on an external SSD attacked via USB to the server. The day after that runs duplicacy does a backup of that folder to Backblaze B2. My Immich library is backed up nightly and also sent to B2 via Duplicacy. Currently, those are the only bits of critical data on the server. I will add more as I finalize a client backup for the Win10, Linux, and MacOS devices at home, but it will follow this trend.

  • So....you're gonna love this.... It was my effin' AdguardHome instances blocking some domain required for the Cloud backup to work. Found that by accident while having my Linux desktop connected via NordVPN, which as you may know has no UI so I just plan forgot to disconnect. Played the game, realized it saved, but went to try to play on SD, but nope. Still won't pull the latest save. So i disabled my primary and secondary AGH instances, tried again, and everything is sunshine and lollypops.

So I added the following to AGH custom filtering rules in order to allow all of these:

I feel a bit dumb now....

  • Yeah, now I just need to find a privacy conscious alternative to Samsung Notes! ;)

I may have to give up on my Nextcloud hate and run Saber. It really is a great app. Just a shame to tie it to only one service.
