Ah, ok. I'll have to set that up. I currently have aegis backing up to my phone's documents folder which Seafile is syncing with my server and 3 other clients. Sounds like a similar idea
That's great. I wonder if the same could be done on the original Xbox. I believe it had the ability to play over network connection from ISOs on a PC if modded. I have one kicking around that I have yet to put a bigger HDD in.
Funny thing, I bought this one used off eBay to interface with my CRT TV for retro games (NES/SNES) because it had analog out. I didn't realize at the time that most, if not all pi models can do it too. It's just combined with the 3.5mm headphone jack. It's an AV port! Oh well, got this one for a song so I'm not too mad about it.
Oh very nice. Hadn't heard of that one. I'm running an instance of seafile that does a bang up job syncing and I could just leverage that for Obsidian. It stores data on the server in git-like chunks, which some folks don't like. But it's also what makes it stupid fast and has revising history. I personally love it.
Quillpad is great. I didn't like it much at first, but it fits a hole in my Obsidian workflow that I really like: easy and simple Todo and checklist type notes. Can even do basic reminders.
I tried syncthing with Obsidian and kept getting collisions and conflicts. So I ended up paying for a year of their Sync. It's been flawless. But now that I know a bit more about selfhosting, I will try again with this scenario. $8/mo is too much.
You could sync it with NC in sort of a janky way. Using Rclone to connect to NC via Webdav. Then rclone mount that remote and put your vault in it. Or maybe just symlink it? I'm not sure if Rclone can do a persistent mount that would stick through reboots though.
I'm still new to this whole privacy and selfhosting stuff, but rclone is one of the cooler utilities I've come across so far. The sheer number of cloud services it can hook to is fantastic! I'd love to see your tutorial. I'm currently using Immich to backup from my phone to my server then a night Duplicacy job sends it to B2.
I used Pihole for years, but have found AGH an overall better UI from a management perspective. And a quick searchs shows that unbound can work with AGH as well so I may give that a try.
As a Linux newb, it's easier than opening a SFTP session next to the terminal as I'm learning the file structure so it's either that or cd then ls for every damn folder because I don't know where I am or what's in this folder vs that. Ranger has been nice for me as I learn.
I will check it out. I thought it was the same thing as the desktop-less options in the Pi Imager.
