  • I don’t know why you’re being downvoted.

  • Well said. We don’t like inequality, but when it comes to blame somehow we all get a “tax free” discount.

Yes, they are awful people. They have more than enough money to live out their sickest fantasies and it’s still not enough for them. But they are - at least in part - a symptom of the way the rest of us live. We vote for a government that lets us forget our humanity, class consciousness and responsibility in place of overbearing capitalism. Only we can stop this.

  • And .txt files in Microsoft Word

  • Simplicity was important for me. I started with just getting breakfast right: something I like, that's healthy, every day. Boring, but I can do it.

Once you have that nailed, do something similar for lunches.

This plan doesn't account for nutritional needs at all. It's just something I can do.

Edit: meals you can make in a slow cooker or large pot are ideal. I turn the temperature off low and can take breaks to play computer games or whatever to break things up. Once I've everything chopped and added, I turn on the heat. It takes me quite a while this way, but I can make enough for a few days.

  • Oh man, I can’t wait to listen to “Blast if I have to” by E A Ski using kitty! 😄

  • I use “brother” in my head when I’m listening to music.

  • I would have a shirt with a hole cut in the breast pocket. Then point a phone camera out while it records.

A few details: you’ll want a busy pattern on the shirt to make the hole less noticeable. You’ll also want an app that can record without easily being stopped (the default camera on my phone can be interfered with just by moving around inside a pocket).

  • I think it’s fair to compare like with like. Many African countries have poor infrastructure, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, rapid urbanization, unsafe vehicles, and limited emergency medical services. Its easy for a Western country to look better compared to that, but is it a fair comparison?

  • In case it’s of help, a common problem I find with guides in general is that they assume I don’t already use Apache (or some other service), and describe as though I’m starting with a clean system. As a newbie, it’s hard to know what damage the instructions will do to existing services, or how to adapt the instructions.

Since docker came along it’s gotten easier, and I’ve learned enough about ports etc to be able to avoid collisions. But it would be great if guides and tutorials in general covered that situation.

  • I hesitated to click on this but your description looks great. Best of luck.

  • The best time to start boycotting was when they started platforming a conspiracy theorising, testicle headed manosphere peddler. The next best time is not I suppose.

  • I thought that the deeply religious states were more of a minority. Yikes.

  • Does anyone know the name of this monkey or experiment? It’s kind of harrowing seeing the expression on its face. It looks desperate for affection to the point of dissociation.

  • If you’re using an older battery (which we should be as much as possible) then plugging in is needed more frequently. Upgrading every two years is not good for the environment, and certainly not good for the child slaves mining the parts for our batteries.

  • I can imagine that working, actually.

  • I migrated from Instapaper to Omnivore, which was open source and had Instapaper's free features. That was acquired by the parent company of ElevenReader and shut down, although the source code still exists for self-hosting. ElevenReader reads the articles but doesn't have the highlighting and other useful features of Instapaper and Omnivore.
