  • There’s no American tax website to login into to “verify” things were handled right

There basically is. Your W2 gives you all the info about how much was withheld, and you can simply verify that it's right or not.

  • So should we use your's too? and hi's?

  • Do you not use any toilet paper? That's gross. You need at least a tiny bit, it helps to dry too

  • Americans took Imperial and changed the measurements but kept the names,

Not accurate. Imperial and US customary were designed side by side. They share a common history https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_units but US did not come from imperial

  • The users with custom name font also just stick out

  • That's totally not fair. Some things are more wrong than others. And the "everything is correct even" language people are just as insufferable as the "there is exactly one correct usage" people.

Using it's instead of its is not slang, or an evolving use or alternative spelling. It's simply wrong.

  • That's basically how it works here too. The situation in op is different because there's no employer.

  • I didn’t start this thread to re-argue about the programming.dev admin

Maybe not, but you're responding to people, "correcting" them and telling them what did or didn't happen and implying that someone did something wrong. I've been perfectly pleasant in responding to that to disagree with your characterization.

  • Are you confused what thread this is? fuck off lmao

Was a legitimate question, and basically the exact same thing you accused me of.

I'm super confused now. My point is you can't "double down" when you did literally nothing wrong, and characterizing it as "doubling down" is ridiculous.

Edit: And yes, I used your "shining light on" phrase that was in reference to something else to tie the points together. That there's nothing to shine a light on

  • What? The thing you quoted was about the snowe incident

the incident that made this occur was them going out of their way to be offended at being misgendered as “them”, as if they had the upper moral hand to get angry at force of habit.

That's talking about the original snowe incident. Am I not allowed to have an opinion and respond to things you post? Are you confused what thread this is?

  • with the exception of telling a trans person that her pronouns are unimportant, which I won't defend

But this isn't what happened. He said that it isn't reasonable to get offended at being referred to as "they" because not all clients show names the same way, and there's no reasonable way for him to know what pronouns to use.

  • What exactly did he do wrong? I'm super confused about what's transphobic about the mod's responses, other than that they disagreed with what a trans person (from hexbear no less) was saying

  • it’d be one thing if they had just like… packed up their opinion on the game and dropped the whole thing, but then continuing to hammer on about it and like

Am I understanding you correctly, that the problem you have is that this person was responding to replies to him?

straight up ignore trans people telling you that they have a problem with the game and people buying it, that’s kind of another things.

And a trans person telling you they have a problem with the game, it means disagreeing is inherently transphobic?

  • What tinkering do you think a framework laptop requires? Even the diy option is basically just install RAM, put case together. It's an hour of work max if you're being REALLY meticulous

  • You could probably do something with tasker to create these daily notifications
