How do you know you would have went along with it? And then what? You would have likely realized it wasn't right and stopped. You don't think children are just having surgeries or something as the first step in their transition, right?
And you also don't think that someone is out there just "transitioning" kids right?
Everything is political. If you don't agree, it means you're in a privileged position where you're part of the majority who isn't having to deal with their rights being stomped on.
Also if the shareholders vote for policy X, the company cannot work against policy X or ignore policy X.
This isn't really true. And is actually exactly what the law is meant to protect. The 51% owner isn't allowed to purposely tank the company and screw over the other 49% just because they vote.
Where this comes from is the fact that companies have to act in the best interest of their shareholders. Best interest isn't defined in law. But it basically comes down to businesses can't act against their shareholders by intentionally helping the competition, or something like that. For example if the board members all own stock in a competing business, and they make a decision that will intentionally negatively effect the business in order to help the other company they hold interest in, that would be illegal.
But people mistakes that for businesses being required to maximize profits at all costs, which just isn't true
KDE is amazing and you should give it a try. It's unbelievably customizable, and is so much more seamless. Having to use gnome is almost as frustrating as having to use macos. And in a lot of the same ways. Like, trying to get a usable task bar in gnome is infuriating.
I’m not even saying you should give it another shot, but please just don’t act like your personal preferences are objectively accurate.
I'm forced to use it at work if I want to use linux. You really can't, and to customize even a little bit you need lots of extra tools and maybe even access the css. For example, https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1160/dash-to-panel/ is the only way to get a usable task bar. And calling it usable is being very generous.
The gnome devs are extremely opinionated in removing configuration and features. It's honestly disgusting
Gnome is awful. It's almost as bad as windows. Basically 0 customization, and getting worse every release. I can't even fathom how you would voluntarily switch from plasma to gnome and not immediately switch back
