What staff costs, I walk around needing help in shops and I can barely find anyone available.

Have you tried using the futo keyboard app?

Supposedly does everything offline locally.

The fact that they take over and withhold those 2FA seeds are a big no for me.

My father used to spend his bonuses on family trips. Back when we were kids, we had so many great memories with our parents. Father always made sure to take as many photos as possible.

Looking at those photos, makes me I want to do the same for my kids as I loved it to bits, but a bit difficult nowadays with everything being way too expensive.

However, I learned that trips, adventures, hikes, or any family activity builds trust, memories, relationship, and an opportunity to capture a lot of great photos for the future.

I know Samsung phones can do something similar with a built in Modes and Routines feature. They allow you to access things that otherwise would require root from tasker.

I have a few routines that I use.

For example,

I have one that auto rotates some apps.

One that sends a notification to my watch when the phone is fully charged.

Another that enables NFC when I open the wallet app and disables it automatically.

Another that enables auto rotate, silences phone, and enables DND when playing games.

An application like tasker makes you realise the weird and amazing stuff you can do.

Even though the android version of it has been discontinued, Syncthing remains my top FOSS app. Not sure how it will behave in the future but v1.28.1 works well for now.

Throw in a bunch of AI random videos and test the waters.

Zero efforts.

That last screenshot is the reason why I think local backups should be an option.

My advice would be to look into emulators. Old school games do not have any micro transactions and are complete. Plus there is a vast library of consoles and games to go through.
