I always thought the "meat shield" thing was a tasteless joke that someone came up with when the Herr Musk brought the kid to the Oval Office and turned the White House into a fucking daycare center. As far as I know, it's not like Musk brings the kid everywhere he goes: he's got his deputized SS goons to protect him.
I know. But I'm always uncomfortable when I read that "meat shield" thing. He's too young to be included in any discussion or remark regarding his father. When he's older, if he turns out to be a shithead too, there's plenty of opportunities to bash on him too. But for now, I think he should be left out entirely, for the sake of giving him a chance not to become a shithead.
Same reason why I happily bash on Don Jr. and Eric but never on Barron Trump.
I don't think it would fly. Even the dumbest magat knows Musk is diddling with the Social Security Administration at the request of the orange utan, when the orange utan literally said he wouldn't touch it, and they'll put two and two together PDQ if their check doesn't come in the mail for the first time ever.
I hate to admit this for the people who rely on social security checks to survive, but I really wish the Social Security Administration screws up because of Musk, because that will for sure trigger a bloody rebellion against him and the orange utan. And the country desperately needs this and fast.
I'm from yesterday. When I was a kid in the 70's, my tomorrow was the triumph of science, an evermore interconnected world of evermore educated people, the rule of individual rights and freedoms, the retreat of religion and magical thinking, fewer and fewer wars and the gradual end of poverty.
I'm very bitter today because somebody stole my future. But you can also argue that I, a man of yesterday, failed to shape the world of today too. We all failed, those of my generation.
If you're a person of today, you need to work towards a better tomorrow right now. Because if you don't, you'll end up regretting not doing it later in life like I do.
Because the American culture has indocrinated Americans to put themselves first. Whoever has "me first" hard-coded in their personality tends to view everybody else as inferior, and tends to have an unwavering confidence in their own greatness.
It would be better if it did, but you shouldn't be surprised if it doesn't, anymore than you should expect the Washington Post to criticize Bezos or Fox News Rupert Murdoch.
But what you don't understand is that VOA is not a news organization. It was created during WW2 by the Office of the Coordinator of Information for the express purpose of spreading pro-American propaganda in Germany and in Japan. And it has kept doing exactly that ever since.
I remember it showering the USSR with pro-American high-power shortwave radio broadcasts in Russian and in English when I was a kid in the 70's. Everybody knew VOA was America's response to radio Moscow.
VOA is quite explicitely a propaganda thing. Really! You guys can downvote me all you want, it's the plain truth. VOA journalists are quite literally paid to spread American propaganda.
His Orangeness has decided to turn the country around 180 degrees and make it a fascist pro-Russia state and I despise him with all my heart. But Trump is right: the VOA has no business not being 100% aligned with him.
That makes the VOA an enemy of freedom, democracy and common decency, just like Trump.
As much as I hate Trump, there's a logic in this. VOA has always been a publicly-funded propaganda mouthpiece. They are NOT an independent media. Independence entails not taking money from people you want to criticize.
If VOA refuses to spew out the latest flavor of propaganda, they're not doing their job.
Not to every country in the world. Even Russia and North Korea would be well advised not to trust the US.
And not that egregiously as far as upcoming damages to the environment are concerned - which also affect the entire planet.
