  • In Trump-speak, "pause" means "stop".

As in, "pause" USaid. Just look at how ready it is to restart...

  • Fair enough. I stand corrected. I wasn't aware, I'll look it up. Thanks!

  • Tell me anything of value that crypto has brought about...

Crypto has been around for 17 years and all I see is:

    • Senseless energy expenditure and damage to the environment mining proof of work coins
    • Electricity prices going up for ordinary folks trying to use it to do something useful with it in areas where mining operations use it all
    • GPU shortages and price hikes
    • People who don't understand crypto losing their shirt on it
    • People who do understand crypto sitting on it and waiting for the value to go up thanks to the suckers above, contributing nothing of value to the economy
    • People who understand crypto and actively use to scam the suckers above.

I have NEVER heard anything good come out of crypto for the economy as a whole.

Does it have the potential to be a game changer and a force for good? Yeah.
Has it been used as a force of good? No.

  • It doesn't matter: they did terminal damage faster than the courts could react.

  • Crypto is a scam through and through. If you don't believe it, ask yourself why Trump is doing it.

  • I have to say, I knew I wasn't quite old enough to make it to my grave without seeing the beginning of WW3, but the last thing I expected is that it would come from the US turning into a raging fascist dictatorship.

  • In other news, Hegseth renames the USSOCOM to Spetsnaz.

  • I think it's really clever actually:

Zelensky knows Trump secretly - although less and less secretly - roots for Putin. He pretends to offer this deal to save face, but he really doesn't want to provide any aid to Ukraine, which is probably why he and the couch fucker were so quick to get ill-tampered and call off the negotiations at the White House on Friday: the last thing they want is to find themselves in a position to have to help Ukraine against Putin.

Zelensky is calling them on their bluff and cornering them: either they don't sign a deal after all and Trump's duplicitous dealings will be exposed for all to see, or they do sign a deal and Trump will have to kill Russians in Ukraine, which is bad news for his relationship with Putin.

  • Krasnov doesn't want to hurt his handlers.

  • The coincidence wears orange makeup, sports a bad blonde toupe and is openly and unashamedly a fucking grifter.

  • Well, clearly money laundering is such a rare fraud, there's no point in wasting the Treasury's time with this...

  • The Republicans are making a real effort to convince themselves that we're now at war with Eastasia. But it doesn't seem to work too good: however much they're trying to integrate the newthink, their brains are working against decades of anti-Soviet and anti-Russian indoctrination.

It's really painful and embarassing to watch them try to reprogram their own brains to please their cult leader...

  • Everybody loves an underdog who fights against someone everybody hates.

And Zelensky just went up 1000 karma points for the same reason: everybody hates the US now.

  • Luckily, Trump's built-in termination date isn't too far away and will limit the damage.

  • “The way I view this is that China, Russia, Iran and North Korea are engaged in a new axis, Axis powers, and they are not on America’s side.”

If you wonder why he makes the distinction with the "new Axis", it's because America is now very close to the old one from 85 years ago.

  • Oh dear... One teeny tiny spark of integrity and poof goes one promising sycophant's career...

  • First off A man is using his child as a prospective bullet sponge

Honest question: how did you come to that definitive conclusion?

What I saw was Musk putting his son on his shoulders. My dad used to do that with me, and plenty of dads do that with their children, and they don't use them as bulletproof vests. Did you deduce this is what Musk was doing because he's so obviously a psychopath, or did you see something physically different from what other dads do in his handling of his son?

I'm not trying to stir up controverse. I can well believe Musk did use his son to protect himself, knowing what a terrible man he is. It's just that I really didn't see anything out of the ordinary when he put his son on his shoulders - aside from the fact that doing that in the White House was inappropriate. So I'm genuinely curious to know how everybody has come to that conclusion.
