  • I'm super cute, generally a mess, and emotionally unavailable.

    I'm definitely my type.

  • With that attitude I don't think we'd want you at Pride anyways :)

  • Led is the past tense of the verb "to lead".

Led is a homophone of lead (the metal) whereas lead is a homograph of lead (again, the metal).

  • Technically, it is a homonym. Homonyms are separated into two categories, homophones (sound the same but spelled differently, such as they're/their/there) and homographs, which are spelled the same but have different meanings, such as lead (the metal) and lead (the verb).

  • In French, usually selfies. The Québéc French Language Office (OQLF) proposes "égoportrait" but I've only ever seen that used very rarely in more formal written contexts.

  • There was this road adjacent to the local university campus in my city that was littered with potholes. The city said it was the campus' responsibility, the campus (rightly) argued it was up to the municipality.

Things were at a standstill until, one night, this guy I knew went out and spray-painted massive dicks around each and every one of those potholes. The city then finally fixed them within weeks.

  • Lemmy.ca is run on a dedicated server in a datacentre in Vancouver, so this isn't true (and really wouldn't be relevant if it were). Think about it.

  • Have you tried reading the article? :)

In short, Trump signed an executive order opening the possibility of refugee status to white descendents of Dutch colonizers who are "victims of unjust racial discrimination" (read: the South African government no longer exists with the sole purpose of ensuring the dominance of white people).

  • I'm super against mandatory helmet laws, but I will say if you're hitting speeds of 80km/h you probably should be wearing a helmet!

  • It's not like he cared about the constituents of Carleton, either.

  • I'm not blaming the NDP voters in this riding instead of the Liberal voters, I'm blaming them alongside the Lib voters.

  • Also, why the fuck would you vote NDP in a riding where the Greens actually have a chance (or vice versa)?

Their platforms have way more in common than they differ.

  • anarchists, tankies, fascists and authoritarians

    Spot the odd one out!

I've definitely seen anarchists describe frustration with electoral politics, especially when people limit their political engagement to simply voting once every so many years. However, I've never seen one advocate against voting.

Anarchists are generally aware that, despite elections not being the thing that will overthrow the bourgeoisie, some parties result in less suffering for oppressed peoples than others.

  • As someone from Canada, I'd be so down for this. What a great deal for us.

  • I'm curious, what attracted you to the Conservatives prior to the Maple-MAGA movement?
