I don't mind if the minutiae are handled provincially, but there at least needs to be more federal oversight, and real consequences if services are not being adequately provided. Tying up funds designated for health care so you can insist the system is broken and then spout privatisation as the cure should be tried as the corruption it is and land you in jail.
This. Aviation has had an incredible safety record over the last 10+ years. That we've had multiple accidents, even minor ones, over the last several months is a huge departure from modern industry standards, and is quite concerning for the future of the aviation industry.
My point is that acting out of self interest doesn't constitute being "nice". They're still willing to meddle in the internal politics of other nations if it benefits themselves, just like the US is.
While I appreciate what China has been doing in the green energy sector, let's not pretend it's out of anything other than self preservation. They're just prescient enough to realise that they need to move away from fossil fuels to not destroy their own future.
Wish I could say the same for other Western democracies. We're too hellbent on maintaining materialistic consumerism to properly invest in our own future.
“I said to them, was there any sign of love?” Trump said, recounting his conversation with released hostages.
“Did the, Hamas, show any signs of like, help? Or liking you? Did they wink? Did they give you a piece of bread extra? Did they give you a meal on the side? … Like, you know, what happened in Germany?” Trump said, absurdly comparing the hostages’ situation to the Holocaust, which murdered six million Jews.
“People would try and help people that were in unbelievable distress,” the president went on, suggesting that the Nazis were known for their generosity.
OK, let's get something straight here: elbows up is originally a hockey term. Normally when you're checking someone, you have to keep your elbows down or else you'll get an elbowing penalty.
Elbows up essentially means "play dirty with intent to injure". If you had your elbows up, you'd have at least one hand on your stick, probably both. So this depiction of flexing arms makes no sense -- you'd never have your arms in that position. Where's their stick, even?
Yeah, kinda, and it's a fairly unique source of oil at that. From my understanding extraction and refinement is initially considerably more expensive than than most other sources of crude, but that's mainly due to the high upfront costs. The upside is that there's also very little falloff of production, so it'll keep producing for a long period without the need to churn through new drilling sites.
I'm not sure what this has to do with my comment, but yes, it's bizzare. It's like they're living in an alternate reality dictated by their talking heads, and without critical thought or reflection.
Edit: Never mind, I see that the chart in question seems to be from a month ago, and that's why it doesn't match.
Just to be clear, is your chart based on the poll's seat projection, or % of vote? The numbers don't seem to match the source's vote federal popular vote projection:
Canada338 federal popular vote projection on April 7, 2025 vs chart in image:
Liberal Party: 44% vs 47.5%
Conservative Party: 38% vs 35.6%
New Democratic Party: 8% vs 6.3%
Bloc Québécois: 6% vs 4.8%
Green Party: 2% vs 2.0%
Peoples Party: 2% vs 2.0%
I compared it to the seat projection percentages, but that didn't seem to match either. Not sure what's going on here.
