  • A birthstrike would be much easier to pull off than a general (labor) strike. Bills don't stop just because you stopped working, and labor strikes require a high degree of coordination. It's a significant risk for those going on strike.

In contrast, a birthstrike does not hurt your immediate situation, and actually likely helps it by preventing an increase in financial burden. Additionally, it requires no real degree of coordination. It can start small and pick up steam as more people jump onboard.

  • wedges, waffle, tots, onion rings, curly, shoestring, crinkle (never heard them called zigzag), sweet potato

I have had really good sweet potato fries that rank much higher, but they're a gamble. Seem to have greater variation in quality than the other options.

  • The key is to vote for the left of center candidate regardless of how much donors spend. Show them that we are going to vote for who we want and that they can't derail it no matter how hard they try. We need to get comfortable with saying "no thanks, we're good" when they try their bullshit. This is literally what happened with Mamdani, and why both the DNC and Republicans are freaking out about it.

  • Oh come on. I don’t think there’s another country on the planet as car-dependent as the US.

Well, that in and of itself is something worthy of criticism. One significant side effect of being so car-dependent is that effectively requires us to have low standards when it comes to obtaining and keeping a license.

  • They shouldn't get too comfy there. Israel's genocidal actions, flagrant manipulation of our government, and attacks on our 1A rights have ensured that the U.S. will no longer support them in the coming decades once the younger generations of Americans age into a more electorally prominent demographic.

  • I really enjoy D&D-based video games, but actual pen and paper is just frustratingly slow. I think if I could change my mindset to consider it a social activity first and a game second, I might find it more enjoyable. But that is also really dependent on the group dynamic and seems more likely attainable for playing in-person rather than with an online group.
