The DNC respects it's base. You just probably think more of the base are moving left than there really are. Reddit users, and now here, seem to exist in such a closed echo chamber they think their highly minority point of view is actually popular outside of their circles. It's not. Most votinf Democrats are still moderate, which is well represented by the party today. There are fringe progressives that exist in the party (which is not remotely a new thing) and get about as much represntation as they should.
Is it illegal to have a private server? Guess I don't remember that part of the 600 investigations the Republicans tried running on her. Okay now do the election rigging one. Or how about the one where he's being accused of insurrection and treason for Jan 6?
It sounds like your saying that self driving cars moving to the consumer market too soon is more of the problem. Am I understanding that correctly? If so, I agree. I think the tech is more like 10-15 years out still at least. There may be other smaller applications sooner but the continued improvement of safety features can be done now.
Can you provide some reasons why the charges are bogus? Do you believe they lack evidence? Do you think they will be thrown out? One in particular catches my attention as there is a federal case being presided over by a judge he appointed, so also curious how that isn't also bogus in that it's a conflict of interest. I know he's got like 3 different active state and federal cases going so take your time in answering.
They aren't listening to you speaking because they don't have to do that. They already know about everything you and your friends do because of all the other shit they track about you and them collectively. The article is fine. Not really new information for most people here or that would probably be reading Lifehacker though, which makes me think they might not buy enough user data...
The problem is the Boomers were actually right about the "phones", but they also succumbed to it and are just as addicted as everyone else now. It's not just news either. People are shifting views massively on mental health through social media sharing with people who are either nefariously sharing damaging content, or are doing so unknowingly. I see that one as a possibly larger issue in the long term than even the news one.
Unfortunately other generations have fully caught up with Boomers and all the garbage news they get from Facebook. It's best to teach young people early that any news they read from social media sites (including the one we are currently on) requires a great deal of due diligence to verify. I am not plugging Ground News as an ad, but I have found it a very good resource to get multiple perspectives on the same story.
Why are you even there still? Mastadon has been a solid alternative for me for a while now.
