23andMe admitted that hackers had stolen the genetic and ancestry data of 6.9 million users
I'm honestly asking what the impact to the users is from this breach. Wasn't 23andMe already free to selling or distribute this data to anybody they wanted to, without notifying the users?
Public transit, in the United States, is primarily owned and operated by various government agencies.
What you are describing fits into the conspiracy theory that automobile manufacturers "lobbied" politicians to pass laws, subsidies, zoning regulations, public transit expansion plans, etc that would favor / encourage car ownership while limiting the growth of public transit. I believe that there where some trials involving auto manufacturing executives, which support at least part of this theory, but I don't know those details.
At the core of learning is for students to understand the content being taught. Using tools and shortcuts doesn't necessarily negate that understanding.
Using chatGPT is no different, from an acidemic evaluation standpoint, than having somebody else do an assignment.
Teachers should already be incorporating some sort of verbal q&a sessions with students to see if their demonstrated in-person comprehension matches their written comprehension. Though from my personal experience, this very rarely happens.
Basically saying “hey be happy you don’t own a home if you want one”
What parts of the article gave you that impression? The article points out that property ownership has "become the primary means of American middle-class wealth creation" and "homeownership has created a class of winners". Neither of those support your summary.
What got from the article is that property ownership is the primary type investment for Americans and home owners have little to no financial incentives in selling their homes but rather their in seeing housing and rental prices continue going up.
OMG! IT'S HAPPENING! My natural talents, which I have been diligently practicing and honing my entire life are finally given a chance to be properly recognized!
So they already had the Klan robes or are they saying that they formed the idea, made or bought robes, got dressed, grabbed their "props", and made their way to the quiz all while drunk?
It sounds like you are describing depression. Here are some things that help me when I get to feeling like this. It's not easy to do when battling with low energy and a lack of motivation, but they help.
Do more outdoor activities. Normally in the form of walks, or biking to nearby locations instead of driving.
Drink more water. Basically, I just have a glass of water before drinking anything else.
Eat better. Nothing too extreme, I make an effort to prepare more foods at home and include more vegetables.
Change things. I'm not talking about a life change. Rearrange furniture, put up some different wall art, change your lighting, swap out the background images on your computers and / or mobile devices, etc.
Spend time with your thoughts. I would try to spend about 15 minutes to an hour each day sitting in silence, with no distractions. I don't force any thoughts. I just wait to see what bubbles to the surface. It usually helps me identify problem areas that I need to focus on.
It is also possible that you have started down a life path that you feel you are "supposed" to pursue and not necessarily a path that you want to pursue.
It could also be that you are burned out between school, work, and social obligations. Making more time for yourself or taking some time off, if that is an option, might help.
Data from the Autopilot system shows that it recognized the stopped car 37 yards or 2.5 seconds before the crash. Autopilot also slows the car down before disengaging altogether.
Officers injured at the scene are blaming and suing Tesla over the incident.
...
And the reality is that any vehicle on cruise control with an impaired driver behind the wheel would’ve likely hit the police car at a higher speed. Autopilot might be maligned for its name but drivers are ultimately responsible for the way they choose to pilot any car, including a Tesla.
I hope those officers got one of those "you don't pay if we don't win" lawyers. The responsibility ultimately resides with the driver and I'm not seeing them getting any money from Tesla.
Here's my theory that is based on no research whatsoever:
Cigarette companies used to pay to have characters smoke in movies and TV shows. This would cultivate a social acceptance and "cool factor" around smoking. During the 80s and 90s, this practice came under fire and smoking in movies and TV dramatically dropped to the point of almost being non-existent.
Then time passed, vaping became popular, and people stopped caring about the impact of normalizing or even glorifying smoking. So the practice of paying studios to have characters smoke started to return. Nobody said anything, so it is becoming common place again.
It doesn't matter if it is unhealthy, it is profitable.
I always liked the House of the Dead series.
