Did you read anything in my comment besides the word "addict"...? To be clear, I wasn't being judgemental, so I'm sorry if I came across that way.

To clarify, I was saying the risk associated with collecting, transporting, and storing a large mystery (but presumed illegal) package in a place like the US with extremely harsh, overly punitive punishments would probably only attract drug addicts or dealers. I like weed and alcohol so I'm not demonizing people who like to have a good time, but I would not be just as happy if it turned out to contain black tear heroin... And again, it's compared to the risks.

Apparently, the dopamine rush of telling someone about your project, you going back to school, you getting healthy, improving yourself, etc is so strong it's basically pre-rewarding you for it. How in the world would anyone know that!? I'm in IT, use Linux, etc, and still have absolutely no idea what that Synology NAS is worth. Uninformed people are probably even worse, especially for older electronics.
