Is it worth the energy to try and bring him back from the edge? Sounds like he's pretty far gone. If you think it's too late, I'd suggest using that energy to lift up your local community somehow. Volunteer for causes, hand out supplies to those in need. We all have to make careful decisions about how we spend our limited mental energy for the next few years.
If you ask the question "is this hype or not", l'd consider who is pushing the narrative and how much they have to gain from it and you'll probably find your answer.
Man, you're the one that's going out of their way to spread angry rhetoric. You were making a call about someone you don't know with no prior info, so yes that is an assumption. I really hope you find a way to move past this anger you are holding onto, regardless of any political disagreements we might have- it's not healthy for you or the world. Good luck out there.
I think any kind of reductive rhetoric (like you pointed out in your post) is hurtful and harmful- yes, even if the roles are reversed. It seems like you're making a lot of assumptions based on a couple words I typed out.
Jazz is my favorite genre to play- this thinking sill applies but it's a lot more abstract- even if there is heavy improv as is the style, it's still musical patterns over repeating chord changes. Couple that with the subversion of expectation thing I mentioned elsewhere in this thread and it's a winning formula if I've ever heard one.
Musician here. This is definitely true, BUT interest can also come from subversion of those expectations. Can be seen in prog music and math rock (subversion of musical forms), funk (subversion of rhythmic expectation with lots of upbeats and short notes), etc
My house was broken into last Christmas, just about a year ago exactly. I understand what you mean, it feels like a violation of your space in the most personal way, even when you weren't there to witness the deed. It sucks. All we can do is pick up the pieces though- give the car interior a good clean, maybe a long with some of the things rummaged through. Also think about what you can do to prevent the situation going forward- not to victim blame at all, but there are usually concrete things that one can do to protect against stuff like that. For example, making extra sure to lock all doors/windows and leaving the car in a well-lit area.
I'm sorry that happened to y'all, but take comfort in the fact that you are not alone in your experience.
Fun fact: "Esquire" is a courtesy title and has no particular meaning in the modern era, so it's likely that this guy just wanted his name to look fancier on the sign.
Dead internet theory strikes again
