  • If you use qbittorrent, they have a search function built in so you don't have to manually search every site. I have found many shows that were impossible to find on sites because they have odd names.

  • Needing money to function isn't profit, those are operating costs... Profit is the money leftover after all costs to make and manufacture something has been paid.

  • Installed mint onto a 125gb ssd. I have it set for boot ~1gb, root 50gb, swap 8gb, and home everything else.

I do find I'm running low on my root drive, but that's because I had a few failed installs of stable diffusion.

  • Star Trek, I'm going to Risa!!

  • So many awful takes on this topic in the comments lol. "Don't follow your passions" is just bs because they're really just saying "suffer through this major and you'll get to suffer through a career for the rest of your life."

The truth is that your major doesn't really matter. What hiring managers look for is mostly that you have a degree, and the major comes second.

I was told for YEARS that "humanities isn't worth it" and that computer science/engineering/STEM is the only thing worth it. But guess what? Massive layoffs due to AI is killing computer science and STEM grads. Businesses are putting postings out there but aren't currently hiring to maintain normalcy, etc.

For a bachelor's, just do what you want! Look at the financial aid for each school and go from there. A lot of people struggle and burn out studying something they hate and sometimes end up dropping out. It's better for everyone to educate yourself on something you're passionate about, then do a master's if you need a career change.

  • Upgraded my pc over the last week, was very pleasantly surpised to learn my AMD gpu has it's drivers bundled with the kernel 😊

  • She was never going to reform the court.

  • Very accurate comment, and to expand on this, things like media codecs, windows dependencies, etc also cause problems. Luckily Proton can play just about any game on Steam.

For example, Marvel Rivals is a new game that just came out and its anti-cheat works with Linux. I play it with ProtonGE, which installs extra codecs that regular proton versions don't include and it works awesome.

Check out protondb.com to search what specific games work for others on linux.

  • I donate to my local animal shelter

  • Been a fan of Kacey Musgraves' christmas show & album

  • A user in another post wrote that denials went from single digits to 20% when he became CEO.

If that's true, then people are celebrating both for who he was AND what he represents.

  • Well George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis so it's not looking too great there

  • I thought it was bc they used blue ink. So kinda like "Back the Blue" lol

  • Have you tried Bottles and/or Wine?

I've never had a problem running anything from the Adobe or Microsoft Suite for example, in fact I think they run waaay smoother on linux

But yea I get it, a lot of people associate compatibility with gaming only.

  • "Multiple women have said that the men they know might have done a “bêtise” but didn’t commit rape. In French, a “bêtise” roughly translates to “something stupid.” It’s a word that parents use to scold children for doing silly things, or that a couple might invoke while bickering."
