  • It's the most populous English speaking country so it's not that weird an assumption, even if you're not American. There are more English speakers in the United States than in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa combined.

  • Desalination won't touch a percentage of a percentage of a percentage of the brine produced by the sun simply by evaporation.

Our problem isn't the byproduct, it's how to return it to the sea in a distributed way rather than out a single pipe. That's an engineering problem, not an ethical or environmental one.

  • This is pretty bullshit mate. I spend so much time on the highway on my bike and truck drivers are usually the most law abiding, predictable drivers I come across.

Yeah there are some who are like you describe but truck drivers are massively overworked and exploited, leading to sleep deprivation and often drug use just to meet targets, so that's inevitable.

I'd share the road with a semi over a Falcodore or yank tank any day.

  • I was disappointed by Prodeus. They've got a good foundation in terms of gameplay, the map design is unbelievably good, and the aesthetic is genre leading - but the enemies all just stand in one place and the gunplay just doesn't feel as good as other boomer shooters. It doesn't matter how amazing the former is if you haven't nailed the latter.

I'd be keen to see them keep working on those areas but I think they're more interested in making it a platform for modding, which is cool but kind of pointless if the game itself isn't tight.

  • This is the right answer.

Look at Europe. For many the closest you get to buying a house is a 99 year lease, and for the majority renting is normal. The main difference is that renters have many more rights so there's less reason to want to own for yourself.
