You make it sound like I (or anybody else on Lemmy) is in charge of implementing this extremely inhumane policy. Again, I emphasise that I do not agree with mass deportations.
I actually think that Biden won the election because of the primary campaign against Bernie. Bernie shifted the platform left and attracted young voters to the party that subsequently voted for Biden in the general election (even if they had to hold their noses). Nothing like a primary to unite voters behind the candidate.
The mainstream media is following one of two approaches. Either, they are actively trying to attract MAGA supporters at the expense of their current readership, or they are so shit scared of Trump retaliation that they refuse to be critical. In either case, their current audience doesn’t like it, and good luck at competing Fox News for Maga.
Musk once understood very well that Dems were good for business as they subsided electric cars and space exploration. Over time he became upset with the Dem policies especially on transgender issues (due to his transgender daughter), and more full of himself. He convinced himself that his business, which essentially exist on state support, could thrive without it. Leopards are now eating his face.
I do think it’s a bit more subtle than that. Throughout history people of all faiths, including Jews, Christians and Muslims and of various nations including Arabs, Kurds, Turks and Persians, have made the Middle East their home. The overall division of land at this moment implies that only a tiny slice goes to the Jews. I think realistically after WWII the parties could have come together to discuss independence from the UK in conjunction with a slice of land for the Jews.
Of course, what happened instead was that the English gave land that was highly contested by all to the Jews, without any attempt at asking the opinion of the people living there.
Wow, that’s some special nitpicking, and hyperbole. Saying that something should become stronger does not imply that it is currently strong. For instance, I think that you could build a stronger argument. See what I did there?
As for the statement that the economy is worse than it has ever been, I guess the Great Depression would like to have a word with you (among many other times).
To be fair since Pasteur we have made enormous progress in refrigeration and supply lines, so if the cow is healthy, and the raw milk is fresh, you should be fine. The main issue is that you should treat the milk in your fridge like something that spoils quickly (like fish), rather than something that can stay in the fridge safely for a week or two. Of course if the cow is sick none of this applies, so it has to come from a trusted source.
TLDR; raw milk can be okay if you are taking far more precautions than you normally would with milk.
When we think cost of living we mostly think about rent and cost of food. The rich don’t pay rent and food is a tiny fraction of their budget, so obviously they don’t complain.
The death penalty has not been executed in NY/federal court for decades right? Doesn’t seem like an actual threat. What they want to achieve is a good negotiating position for a plea bargain because they known a trial will be a shitshow.
The sound of Musk is music to my ears. He is an incompetent and overconfident. A great way to get nothing done. Of course voters do not hold politicians to their promises, but if they did hiring Musk would be a great way to ensure failure.
Such a bizarre campaign this year. In polls almost nobody placed healthcare above immigration in importance. Yet, after Luigi it has become clear that healthcare is in fact a winning issue.
The Kamala campaign was very careful to NOT say that the economy was doing great. It was Biden who essentially had this as his campaign strategy. I wonder why this piece of misinformation is so persistent on this platform. It is always mentioned by people without reference to a source.
Of course there’s a difference. Among others vaccines might soon be banned. Think also about women’s healthcare (abortion etc.). But yeah, if you are thinking about systemic positive change she likely would not have done much.
Great, I would love to have some free research assistants! Oh wait, these plans invariably only concern manual labor (real work TM).
