  • I'm not sure how it shows how it is effective, the article is really just "look some more people on Twitter called this no-name candidate weird." It doesn't touch on at all if this is an effective strategy that will sway voters.

It's just more of the hard hitting and deep digging "journalism" I've come to expect from lgtbnation.

  • Funny how everyone's tastes are different. There is a Sheetz with a gas station on the way back from where I go skiing a lot and I often stop for gas and coffee. I keep hoping the coffee won't be garbage, but it always is.

I don't even like Starbucks but there are plenty of blends they have that I would pick over sheetz any day.

  • First day of my sophomore year of college, my roommate comes back to the room with two smoking hot girls and was like "they want to smoke pot with us."

    I thought "damn good job!"

25 years later I'm married to one of those "girls" and we have two beautiful sons together.

  • I see your point and can agree in the cases where the tool won't be available to you, or if there is an intent to deceive.

But to flip the script, I'm pretty good at spelling but even then there are words I fuck up the spelling and it's caught by a spell checker. Am I a liar for submitting things without pointing out my spelling errors that a computer caught? Or is there a recognition that this is a common tool available and I've effectively used it to improve my communication, so this is just standard practice?

  • Learning to use the tools available to you is not "fake" it's being smart. Anyone who would be like "oh you recognize your weak point and have found and used a tool effectively to minimize it...you're fired/get out of my life" is an asshole and an idiot.

  • I agree with your ultimate premise, that technological advances have all but eliminated the need for the Ec. But, my man, the telegraph predates CA as a state.

The EC was also for many reasons, but pertaining to the point were talking about, it was because they were afraid people would just campaign in cities because that would be the most efficient. The EC forces a wider appeal.

But with the ability to reach everyone, everywhere, instantly, this fear that they only campaign in cities is gone.

  • The question is whether it's an ambiguous statement. You are saying its safe to assume, because of past behavior, what he means. And I agree, what he's saying here is scary based on this. But that doesn't change the fact that it's ambiguous and not explicit.
