I would bet that this is due to systemic problems which lead black residents to have fewer economic opportunities than white residents do. But hey, that's crazy progressive talk.

Theoretically, it works the other way around due to higher melatonin content in the skin of those with darker pigment.

Hatred often stems from fear and your example is in line with that.

From the side of the article's title's perspective, it makes sense because some politicians are in fact trying to put mask bans in place in order to make it easier to identify "suspects". Because it's harder to recognize people's faces when they have a mask on. So yeah, it makes sense. It's just awful.

What is this picture supposed to be of? A man who is depressed about his eyes being different colors? I can't tell how it's supposed to be related to the article.

This is one of the most upsetting things in American news in the past couple of years and it barely gets any attention. These regular protesters, who are doing the good work of the people to protect us from authoritarianism, are being charged with domestic terrorism. This whole situation is insane.

The fact that the police are even being provided funding and real estate in order to practice urban warfare is disgusting enough. And then to charge those who protest it with terrorism? Who are the terrorists here, really?

It wouldn't be if there were an alternative who was not showing similar or worse signs of senility. When both of the only feasible candidates have the same issue, that issue is mostly moot.

Forcing convicts to fight and giving them an option is not the same thing. It also matters very much which convicts you are sending to fight.

The US doesn't have anything called an English breakfast outside of restaurants which specifically cater to that. Aside from what looks like quiche, that looks like a pretty standard continental breakfast.

I don't know that it counts as a disease, but, for anyone who never wants kids, infertility is a huge blessing.

I think most of us actually prefer the British spelling / pronunciation. But it is what it is.

I wonder if the real lesson is that the sense of urgency created by "snap" elections works out better than our system which involves politicians endlessly being in campaign mode.
