This used to be true for a while, specially around the time the bell button was introduced (so the conspiracy theory is youtube made the sub feed worse on purpose), but it no longer is. There is absolutely no one showing any verification of missing sub uploads anymore, and it was super easy to verify when it happened.
YouTube has a long history of enshittifying itself and the UI with every feature release or redesign, but they seemingly, finally, stopped, after the dislike button. They got distracted with Shorts, which, for better or worse, meant they stopped fucking up other stuff.
Same. TONS of old channels just sitting there, waiting for a revival or just sitting as a memorial. However, they do have a way out, for channels that disappear and then reappear with completely new style of content. Only hapenned twice but I didn't want them there if the stuff they were posting was going to be the norm.
I actually make a double exception for a channel getting hacked even if it was basically defunct and I hadn't seen them in years or would be interested anymore. I remove them, then, if I figure out who they were, I get them back later once their account is back. Hapenned to Phoenix Kappashiro.
The most absurdly enduring channel on my list is marasy8. I have subscribed to them for nearly 15 years, and they have not stopped making content nor changed its nature.
Because it's not just going to say yes. It's going to say yes, and then present an unique key that browser made for themselves. Other browsers might be able to spoof the key, but the proposal might have cryptographically expensive to even try.
Like, if you're resuscitated using a defibrillator, then by all accounts, your heart stopped for a moment there. Without intervention from a machine that at one point in history didn't exist, tou were indistinguishable from a corpse. So, a teleporter would just be the same but taken to an extremely abstract degree - you are dead, but your body exists in a state and within range from a machine that can resuscitate that body, so no doctor can yet declare you dead.
Oh, wait, Japanese in the other comment, now I get it. This conversation is a about AI Loli porn.
Pfft, of course, that's why no one is saying the words they mean, because it suddenly becomes much harder to take the stance since hatred towards Loli Porn is not universal.
This is actually something I had once considered too. It's not that they want to downgrade the port itself, it's also that they want to downgrade the AMOUNT of it. I went looking for phones with two ports (I was also curious about using a phone as a data bus) and I could literally find none.
This is why when it comes time to decide on a compromise, Bluetooth (and its audio issues) wins out versus anything with ports. Because it's a solution that doesn't throw away options with it.
Ask them to make up a riddle. Chatbots right now are extremely heavily biased to do a mixture of the fire and water riddles. No, not on at a time. Both at the same time. They're similar enough that it gets confused.
A human will give up right away or do something completely different.
The instances that run the degenerate porn are all basically isolated and don't get much traction. And people in the main fediverse don't ever hear of them because trying to point one out never devolves into much of a reaction (except Burggit because Loli is an easy target)
Every time I see the optimistic outlook in regards to humanity, I am reminded myself how hard it hinges on a sense of belonging among the "we". I look for the reason for that optimistic attitude and I am expected, no, borderline mandated to feel a patriotic pride for humanity.
I actually don't anymore. My mind change one too many time.
Extremely Controversial Counterpoint: Cruel Pessimism. No, it's not that I don't care anymore alone. I actually want to see humanity suffer now. I tried to fix it, and in return, the world hurt me and I now want it to hurt itself.
YOU live, not "we". I'll have no children, and hopefully die before the worst. Probably not. But whatever. I got not pity and intend to exchange none back.
Pretty much. The outcome is simple. By 2050, the rich will start moving their houses north-er than they already do, south asia and europe will be considered pre-tropical. America will start hearing the words "desertification" but people on the south border will still vote against their interests.
By 2150 the rich, whose numbers will already be severely culled, will run out of North to run to.
It's on the internet, it exists to be modified. Tis the law.
With that said, if I heard that, I'd either do things low profile or I'd not do it at all, because at any point the devs can just intentionally ruin whatever you use to make your app work. And low profile isn't an option, RiF's dev will always have at least a couple hundred who will try whatever they make, day 1. In their shoes, I would contact the Tildes dev directly and ask where we stand, then go forward with blessing, or leave.
Yeah. Take the state of game emulation for example. Yes, Retroarch DOES have like 500 emulator """cores""", all of which can be configured from a single general purpose UI and using a single input layer.
But holy shit does hat UI and input configuration SUCK DONKEY BALLS.
My Anbernic is very happy running 80% of its consoles though it. But I do wish there was something better looking when I have the actual emulation layer running.
This is why Lemmy's tangential features, such as being able to post from Mastodon accounts, or being able to post to that video service, are also not going to happen any time soon. It's just a lot of moving pieces, for functionality that's more interesting than useful.
