I'd have thought different regions have their own way of saying they're cold - for example up north, I'm "nithered" is a reasonably common way to say you're cold...
Realistically you will find that after a few days you will be able to chew in areas where the teeth haven't been removed - it just takes a little bit of time to get used to it.

Citric acid is a good shout, but if you can get hold of sulfamic (NOT sulfuric) acid, it is much faster at removing limescale as it is a stronger acid. It does cost a bit more though...
