  • Yeah or LLMs succumb to model collapse and just keep getting worse until eventually the fad dies.

  • Wouldn't '7z x' handle all of the above as well?

  • Pretty sure that version is vulnerable to some xss stuff though. Possible the admin's creds were compromised.

  • Why are you so passionate about MLP? Like, who gives a shit?

  • I use audiobookshelf for both audiobooks and podcasts. It can handle the podcast metadata well, show pictures and descriptions, track your listen progress, etc.

  • Yes, it sucks that this country isn’t a dictatorship run by people who agree with me.

When did I advocate for that? I'm an anarchist...

It sucks that change is hard sometimes.

True, the status quo is quite easy.

Whining about it and sabotaging the effort isn’t gonna help

Pointing out flaws in the supposed progressive party is "whining"? And how exactly am I "sabotaging the effort"?

  • I mean, yeah it kind of is. When the Dems have power, what do they do with it? Fucking nothing, they cry that the minority party prevents them from getting anything done. And why do so many working class people vote for the shitbag republicans? Because the shitbag dems don't do anything for them.

Libs (both dems and republicans) have run this country since it's inception, and they've done a shit job of it.

  • Even if we assume nothing but the best intentions of Democrats, that's merely further proof of liberalism's failings. The planet is dying and dems are busy blaming those pesky courts and Republicans, while us common folk throw up our hands and say well I voted Blue, I don't know why the planet is still dying. All the meanwhile the ultrawealthy are building rocket ships to Mars. This shit is dystopian.

  • I got nervous thinking this meant PTP wasn't coming back. Glad to hear that's not the case!

  • And yet, Biden's administration approved more permits for oil and gas drilling in it's first two years than Trump's admin. Not to mention Biden has been supporting the Mountain Valley pipeline construction. Meanwhile oil companies reported record profits for 2022 and last month was the hottest July in recorded history.

Capitalism and the libs that uphold it are completely and utterly incapable of addressing climate change.

  • a mistrust of MSM

If even in the face of mainstream media's recent but rapid decline you still implicitly trust it, I've got a bridge to sell you.

they both really enjoy ‘trolling the libs’

The libs kind of deserve to be trolled. Do you really think the Dems have our best interests at heart? Look no further than the Dem's action on climate change. We need drastic and swift changes enacted. I don't know if one could even make the argument that they've made marginal progress. But any lib could give me a laundry list of reasons why it can't be done and how I should just accept the extinction of the human race. Sorry, but I refuse to do so.

stringing up a part of the population would solve their problems

    See the paradox of intolerance.

  • Ahh yes, "both-sides", leftists are the same as far right bigots. Big brain take.

  • Why don't you go ahead and post your browser history and location data for the last 6 months?

  • Yeah checksums are useless. But if you know assembly, you could diff the original binary with the crack and look for anything malicious.

  • "Updated" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Lots of people don't keep their software up to date.

But yeah, the likelihood of any of us randomly happening upon 0days in the wild is pretty low.

  • The Dayman episode was amazing!

  • +1 for Behind the Bastards. Robert Evans might be one of the few leftists around these days that I can tolerate to listen to for more than 5 minutes.

  • Damn, the Voyager dev works fast! Thanks for the link.

  • Are you sure it's legit? From a quick look at the official GitHub repo's README, I saw no mention of a native Android app (however I did see mention of the iOS app).

EDIT: dug a little deeper and saw mention of the Android app in the latest release notes (beta coming soon to the play store) as well as an empty Android studio project folder in the source. Maybe the actual code is somewhere on a different branch, but even so, I would be hesitant to install random APKs not coming from the developer themself.

  • The RIF dev ended up going with some non-federated reddit alternative. I get it, probably a much less flooded market (we already have so many options for Lemmy). But a bummer nonetheless.
