  • An internal memo circulated at the Social Security Administration stated that the agency is considering adding another step to battle fraud...

Nope. Bullshit. None of this is about battling fraud, and anyway ,Social Security is about the cleanest, most fraud-free agency possible. Over 99% accuracy. The claims of rampant fraud are just more Republican lies.

  • I'm not lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, or questioning, but I've been to Pride events in San Francisco, and a few other cities, because they're fun and inspiring and subversive! Pre-corporate, Pride was about announcing yourself and being yourself, and I don't know what the heck Comcast or Anheuser-Busch adds to that, beyond muddying the event by making it about cable TV or beer or something. My straight gut says, going without corporate sponsorships will make the parades and parties more fun.

  • Exactly and it's astounding — no Dems have filed impeachment papers against Trump in 2025. Al Green has said he will, but he hasn't yet, so the total is still zero. Infuriating.

  • Despite the rhetoric, the Trump administration has so far not openly defied a court order...

I guess nobody at AP reads the news.

  • That certainly seems to be the plan.

  • Why would anyone who's not a Nazi perform or attend a performance at Trump's Kennedy Center?

  • Donald Trump can do anything he wants. He always has, nobody has ever stopped him, and realistically, nobody ever will.

  • Eyebrows up. I'm even smiling, slightly.

But Trump won't comply. He'll either ignore the ruling, or take it to his Supreme Court.

  • It's not for me, but it sounds cool for those active on both sites.

  • I remember the story from Sunday School, but in our church we were taught that the 'point' was to always obey God without question. Like, even if God's instructions seem insane, do it anyway, maybe He's just messing with you?
