  • Day one patch means they released an unfinished game. They haven't done enough testing before physical production. Also fucks over the people with a slow connection.

A patch 1 year after release is fine. Some people found a rare bug which can be fixed. If the game gets patches 1 year or longer after release tells me the developers have love for their game and/or community for fixing it long after they had any obligation to.

  • It's not about the type of game. The new standard should be about releasing a finished game. Not a buggy mess with day one patches.

  • I get why they recall it, but let's be honest. How many people visit an URL found on food packaging? It's made for fans of the paw patrol show, and most kids that age don't come further then whatever game is popular on ios and android.

  • "How dare you get paid for your time worked!"

    -Corporate America probably

  • There's a DOSBox fork that I know of that can run Win95 but the "hard drive" is not as easily accessible as regular DOSBox.

If it's a different emulator, I'd like to try it out. Let me know if you ever remember!

  • I still remember the windows Xp compatibility problems with old software and games. And windows 10/11 didn't make those problems go away, instead it got worse. Old software is not a priority, understandably.

For example have you tried to play Dungeon Keeper 2 on a modern pc? I have, and it crashes constantly. Other software won't even run a lot of the times, even with tinkering.

DOSBox made using DOS software accessible. There is not a catch-all like that for pre XP windows software yet.

Also this community is mostly for/about nostalgia.

  • Nostalgia is a helluva drug. It's not just about the OS, but also the retro games that were made for it. And the hardware for retro collectors. I just noticed trying to find games to post on the DOS Gaming community that many of the retro games I loved as a kid were made for Win9x. So I made the community to post more of my personal nostalgia.

  • Phone lines usually have 4 leads. Only blue/blue-white are used for the actual connection, orange/orange-white are often not connected.

  • I love the stock image of an ethernet cable with only phone capabilities having continuity. Good choice from whoever made that decision.

  • Why even call it autumn sale if it ends 2 weeks before autumn even begins? I always appreciate a sale though.

  • Oh god. I must have had 2000 hours logged on jedi academy with xfire. Brings back memories.

  • Cool! Don't forget to post your community in this community for more visibility.

You can also make your main account mod for easier access.

  • Hij is een VVDer, dus ik acht de kans groot dat hij een toppositie krijgt in het bedrijfsleven met een hoog salaris als "bedankje" voor zijn werk in de politiek.

  • Alright then, I was out of the loop. Carry on.
