I'd heard lots of pep talk about Linux being ready for gaming, so I tried Mint this year. Most of our Steam games didn't work right. Lots of Googling, really tried to make it work, got some to work, but ultimate just went back to Windows - all games work out of the box.
Instead of having 2**32 distros and compatibility shims, y'all need to get behind a common ecosystem that laymen can get aboard... if you want Linux to proliferate. Unfortunately the chatter here really backfired for me.
Just that McDonald's (the company) didn't narc, and it's not as if Burger King (the employees) aren't just as likely to narc. BK is just taking a PR shot, which given the anti corporate greed sentiment of the whole public reaction, is a little twisted
Billionaires can't be benign. It's impossible to make a billion dollars in a lifetime without taking more than you deserve. Someone overpaid for the product or someone was underpaid for the work (probably both). Billionaires prey on that loss, and it's not as if they are Robin Hood giving back to the poor. If that's not malignant, I don't know what is.
Sure, but they had to work up to that exponentially. If they came out swinging like that even 10 years ago, there would have been a LOT more "it was a joke" back peddling.
I think "easy" is unfair. I mean, you really have to admit that the right-wing propaganda machine worked its ass off for the last 30 years and succeeded in its evil intent.
How is it a con? Trump has no class. That's exactly what these "hold my beer" voters want and it's what they get. That don't care if he grifts as long as the "elite" are annoyed. But they will ultimately hurt from his policies, so that's when the gymnastics start.
Nvidia, and I tried ALL that shit. So many command lines options, desktop managers, driver alternatives...
