I think I've been "management" in this scenario... Not intentionally, I've just been on so many shit ass working groups where our meetings were just political grandstanding that I feel we had to "get work done" in the off hours.
Do children have parents? Because this is their problem. When did personal responsibility stop being a thing?
There has always been shit out there that will fuck up your kids. That's literally never going to change unless our species goes through some DRASTIC and specific evolutionary pressures. As a parent, it's your job to protect your kids - not society.
Edit: And if you can't, for whatever reason, then it's not society's fault that you made too many children.
Governments are full of two types: (1) the stupid, and (2) the self-interested. The former doesn't understand technology, and the latter doesn't fucking care.
Of course "governments" dropped the ball on regulating AI.
It'd be fucking awful - I'm a grown ass adult and I don't have time to sit in IRC/fuck around on BBS again just to figure out where to download something.
This vibe reminds me of the Reddit I enjoyed back in 2010. No, we can't always be toxic af everywhere (sometimes it's a fun little treat), but at the same time, not everything needs to be a goddamn bubble-wrapped "safe space."
Our species is trash - it has nothing to do with the news cycle. There are just too many fucking stupid people that are being allowed to shit out legions of children.
I sincerely wish there was a virus that killed people who were "too dumb." It'd be much more peaceful...

"Other duties as assigned" of course. 🙄
