  • I realized journalism was truly dead a few years back when I noticed that most news articles online are just a bunch of Twitter posts talking about the headline. I fantasize about writing a movie where Edward R. Murrow comes back from the dead as a demon and just goes around slaughtering lazy journalists, which forces other journalists to actually do their fucking jobs.

  • The man attempted a coup and faced zero consequences for it. In fact, he was rewarded with a second term as president. Forgive me if I refuse to hold my breath for Democrats to do anything substantial to prevent him from wiping his ass with the Constitution.

  • Trump has said pollsters that have shown his approval ratings sliding in recent weeks should be investigated for "election fraud."

He's going to run for a third term. That's what this means. Buckle up, y'all. We're in for yet another Constitutional crisis that the Democrats will do exactly nothing about.

  • I hate how many people are already starting in with conspiracy theories. She was sex trafficked as a teenager, for fucks sake. Then her whole life was dragged through the mud in public view while she sought justice. Countless people take their own lives every day under far less stressful circumstances.

She didn't know anything that Ghislaine Maxwell doesn't know, and that bitch is still breathing.

  • I’m just saying the whole premise of the meme is extremely flawed. It’s made to imply that modern life is in any way as bad as medieval serfdom and that is just not true.

The image is just drawing a few parallels between modern life and medieval serfdom, not implying that one is equally as bad as the other. I think the larger point that the image is trying to make is that landlording is something we should have abandoned when we got rid of serfdom.

  • You can't humiliate someone who has no shame. And with their firehose of falsehoods, you'll only expose a small portion of their lies by the time they've already moved on. Nothing productive comes from waging a war of words with people who don't believe in the words that come out of their own mouth.

  • All otters are assholes regardless of their size. There was a case a couple years ago in Montana of a woman being mauled by river otters. They damn near ripped her face off and tried to drown her. And these weren't even the roided out Amazonian otters. Just normal river otters.

NSFW on that link. There's your warning.

  • Republicans would have to win two thirds of state legislatures with MAGA loyalists to even bring a vote to overturn the 22nd. There is no way that happens legally, and Republicans know it. If they plan on a third Trump term, my bet is they will either be ignoring the 22nd altogether, or enacting emergency powers to suspend the entire Constitution indefinitely.

  • I’m not trying to be a pessimist, but this is the same kind of logic J6ers used in 2021. They believed that the election was stolen and tried to invade the capitol as a result.

And if they had been right, it would have been justified. The problem is that they had zero evidence of a stolen election. Trump went to court over 60 times to get the election overturned, and never once produced a shred of evidence that the election was stolen from him, even when it was in front of judges he personally appointed. The January 6th rioters were basing their actions on nothing more than right-wing propaganda.

In contrast, Trump is openly signaling that he is going to ignore the Constitution (or unilaterally alter it) and run for a third term. A January 6th style riot would be justified in this case (if all legal routes fail), because if he is allowed to get away with this, what's stopping him from just handing his fourth presidency to Donald Jr, then Barron, and so on?

  • The amount of younger people that are sucked in hook, line, sinker, rod, boat, trailer and truck is staggering.

That demographic is a whole other problem that requires a whole other solution. Conservatives have spent a decade building the online right-wing pipeline with podcast bro's and streamers aiming their content at young teenage boys. Now all those kids are of voting age, and a big chunk of them have spent half their lives being raised on manosphere bullshit that taught them that they are owed the world on a silver platter.

I will hand it to conservatives; they are frighteningly good at organizing and staying on message in ways that the Left can only dream of. If we could get half as organized as them, they'd never win another election.
