  • Can't believe noone has mentioned the hot beverage vending machines.

Its so fucking nice to spend $1-$1.50 and just get some hot tea or coffee right there without issue. And they're everywhere so you can pretty much rely on them.

So much more convenient than having to go to a coffee shop so you can pay $5 for the same thing, and the vending machine version still tastes great.

  • That's generally not a good thing...

That means it's more likely to be an echo chamber or just bots auto posting...

You want a lot of diversity - within specific groups sure, the same names are fine but across groups that's a bad sign.

  • Pretty spot on in my opinion.

I buy the cheapest coffee beans I can from supermarket, and have had coffee snobs comment how much they love the coffee I make and where I buy it from.

Salt is salt, it tastes the same.

Not sure on the land one.. That one is a bit odd admittedly.

  • People are ragging on it here... But it makes a lot of sense. With the way AI is going I'd be happy for a shortcut. Although tbh I don't use like 30% of the keys anyway, so would be fine to just remove irrelevant keys for it.

I know people don't like change but not all change is bad.

  • I imagine Linux will cap at about 5% if not lower of overall use.

It's good to see competition but I just can't see it picking up much more. Steamdeck only has so many people willing to pick up essentially a console, and PC users aren't gojng to change for the most part.

  • Are you a boomer?

Just because you don't like or understand something doesn't mean it's not a job. I think it's a bit ridiculous myself but at end of day it's no different to being a celebrity for whatever reason and it's still a job.

  • Thank goodness Gabe will live forever and Steam will always be a private company then!

    Oh... Shit.

This is exactly what I mean. It's like people just have no concept of the future. Point me to any private company that's been around a long time and is still not shit.

  • Steam and GoG are not just free services for gamers either. At their core they are businesses, and they invest significantly to try and make people spend more/get addicted to their services.

I hate this whole idea that some companies are your friend. That just shows their marketing and branding is working on people and blinding people.

  • Yep.

People fanboy over Steam endlessly without realizing that with time, it will turn to shit as well.

More competition is good, and maybe Epic is shit today but if their leadership changes then maybe it could actually significantly improve and surpass Steam.

But if it doesn't exist, then if Steam turns to shit then you're much more likely to just be stuck with shit.

  • ? This makes no sense without further context. Where are you? Is this normal? Why is this infuriating?

Are people really this self-centred they just assume everyone lives in the same place as then and should know? It's 35 degrees celcius here in Australia, a temp of 14 degrees looks amazing to me.

  • Exactly my point though.

If you're using the default settings for anything you're not going to have as good a time as spending a few minutes removing the crap.

It's the same whether it's Windows, Linux, Apple or whatever - the default is generally crap/annoying and you need to configure it.
