Sure but firstly this hits a bit different when Russia, China, SA, and their buddies have an abhorrent record of human rights abuses in the modern era, the US has historically been bad, but no worse than their peers. So to avoid getting into whataboutism sure the US protects their interests, but outside of when someone like Trump and the MAGAs controls, the US generally sides with human rights, religious freedom, and equal rights, things may not always work out how we hoped they would but at least we're trying to help stabilize the world.
The main point you should understand is that this isn't a Russia, China, US, SA, Israel, whatever, problem, this is a Far Right vs everyone else problem.
