I mean Biden literally laid a trap for Trump and the MAGAs with his statement on the border, and they fell right in it by axing the bipartisan resolution they almost passed, but of course Trump opened his fat yap and the MAGA idiots did his bidding as usual.

The private prison, alcohol, tobacco, gun, and gambling lobbies and police unions are the main opponents to legalization, and they all have far too much power over the rest of us.

I'm 100% behind Biden, but if he wants to cure our growing loneliness and isolation, he can start by legalizing pot and letting pot bars show up as much as regular bars.

We also need some serious investment in community activity centers, safe places for young people, old people, middle aged people, to meet, socialize, and enjoy activities together, within their age groups while also allowing folks to mix with other age groups.

The big problem is the social isolation that began not only with the rise of the Internet, but also with the culture war bullshit, and with parents controlling their children because they are afraid of what they're seeing on the news every day. We need to find new ways to get people out there mixing again.

Vast improvements in public transportation would help greatly here too, most of the barrier these days is getting to places to do socializing, people can't count on their family for transportation, cars and everything else is expensive and jobs aren't paying well, and neither citiies or rural areas are built for easy getting around, outside of the few American cities with solid public transportation systems no American city is very walkable. Also ensure that people aren't going to get arrested for dumb shit, especially on public transportation, there was just an article this week about all of the money the NYPD is wasting enforcing bus fares when the bus fare machine isn't functioning properly, just let those people ride and stop hassling poor people.

NIMBYs are just modern day redliners.

DeSantis basically did the same thing here in Florida after we voted to restore voting rights, then his brown shirts arrested a person who voted thinking that their rights were restored.

When Biden said that about the border he was challenging the Republicans to give Biden that win, because he knew they wouldn't and that Trump is too dumb not to fall for the trap Biden and his team set by saying that, and Biden was right, Trump pulled the strings and the border deal failed.

Right or wrong though, we need to solve the border problem, and that's definitely not by letting rednecks hunt central and south Americans, like Trump and the GOP, especially the Texas GOP, are advocating for.

Biden knows that the solution lies in legislating for more judges and other staff to help streamline and improve the citizenship process, but the GOP are against that because they buy into the "great replacement theory" and don't want any more brown people, especially with Trump telling them that he'll do mass deportations if he's elected.

But it also goes beyond that, because we have to help solve what keeps people coming here, and that's because of the political instability and tyranny of their origin countries, I mean brown people aside, look at what's going on in Haiti today as an example (gangs basically taking over the Haitian capital and kidnapping more political leaders).

You say no matter who wins, but if Trump wins he's promising to make all of this dramatically worse, his supporters are determined to end democracy, and he and his supporters are promising vengeance on their enemies, and I and many others would definitely be considered their enemies, this is full on Hitler/Stalin shit, and sitting on the fence like you are is basically siding with Trump.
