  • Yes, I did.

  • Factorio. And Cities: Skylines 2 if I'm playing it on Windows.

  • My setup (R5 3600 and GTX 1660super) can play Cities: Skylines 2 just fine on Windows, but it runs like shit under Linux. I guess this is because of the Shared GPU memory.

  • Anticheats - an inferior piece of software that no one likes.

  • This is Generation Alpha stuff, AFAIK no one is listening to this brain rot.

  • Try Win10 LTSC if you don't want to make the switch to Linux.

  • Not something so complex that it requires a docker

Docker is the thing that sandboxes your services from the host OS. I'd rather use Podman because of the true non-root mode, but Docker is still based. Plus, you can use Docker Swarm if you don't want to switch to Kubernetes (though you don't have easy storage integration for persistence).

  • He has a GitHub repository with all the build scripts that are used to do it. But I'll still use Win11 IoT Enterprise LTSC instead of this.

  • Try Win11 IoT Enterprise LTSC. It is available from this link. I know it's piracy, but fuck Microsoft.

  • Fedora or Bazzite.

    Unified package system

    Go with NixOS.

    !Or LFS. (Just kidding)!<

  • edit. Any chance you guys could suggest to me one setup that "just works" with no ifs and no buts? Or does it not exist in the Linux world?

Try Radeon GPU with Ryzen CPU and Bazzite KDE.

Gnome apps in Arch are taking multiple seconds to open/tab back into and freezing, no idea how to debug it.

Buy an SSD and try Bazzite KDE. It is the best distribution for beginners, IMO.

The only issue that exists for Linux is anti-cheats. They're as effective as Valve's anti-cheat, and we all know how effective VAC is.

Btw, you just need to get used to it. Based on what you wrote, you're just impatient.

  • Don't know what that is.

  • It's probably slow because it was tested in China, where you have a government-set daily limit for how long you can play video games.
