Since you're the dev, maybe you can answer a question I have. I just downloaded Connect and noticed if I select a post from a different instance, it won't let me comment or anything saying that I'm not logged in. Is that a bug or am I just not doing something right?
That's similar to why I hav an SUV. My dad has mobility issues and has a scooter to help him get around. The SUV is higher off the ground making it easier to get in and out while the larger cargo space can hold the scooter and anything else (groceries, luggage, etc).
I'm assuming they're referring to the recent post about how Lemmy stores your upvote/downvote history in databases accessible to all instance owners and not just the owner of the instance your account is on.
I've been feeling this lately as well. I'll see people post pictures of display cases filled with all their consoles and it makes me regret giving away my old consoles when I bought a new one.
I kinda wish they would also hide the upvote/downvote numbers as well. Completely remove all the visible numbers that could potentially be used to "keep score". Posts and comments shouldn't be about who's winning.
