  • Exactly.. (leaving both firmly on the right)

Vote none, and start organising (in your work place, in your community, in your own home inspiring your kids). If you still can't see that the system is designed by the rich and powerful for the rich and powerful, you're not paying any real attention (precisely why the media keeps society constantly looking at anything but how things are really run).

We need to abolish the establishments keeping us down, not continue to play their game by their rules and wonder why things never change..

  • Fuck the Tories right, but I also don't see Starmer opposing any of this.

  • I think it's important to relate the latter part to the former - beyond the privacy issues with not being allowed to wear masks (and having our bank accounts invaded), there is also the health aspect, and disallowing masks is one sure fire way to keep disabled people from assembling, since, you know, we don't want to get covid, being significantly more likely to die from it (not necessarily because of the illness, but because our lives are deemed less worth saving).

The lack of any mask mandates already excludes disabled people from so many public spaces, this is just another way to keep us (as well as others, you know, first they came for..) from fighting back. as they strip us of every last human right.

  • Biology isn’t binary.

    correct

I would stop looking for labels

why, when a label can not only confirm to the person themselves all of the feelings and doubts they may have been having, but also finds them a supportive community of people like them they can relate to and share experiences with?

    and just be you.

correct, but can only happen by knowing who you are first, aka finding the correct label/s for yourself.

  • And I wish I could convey to people like you what an absolute privilege it is to not feel the need to label yourself because society already not only recognises and accepts you as the default, but caters to you as such.

Those of us not so lucky like to find our people, those who can understand us and what we've been through, those we can relate to who can relate to us, and act as the community society never was for us (your comment being a perfect demonstration of the massive blind spot so many people have to the struggles of marginalise people).

Check your privilege instead of expecting those who don't have it to be as comfortable as you are (which literally requires you to just not give your uninformed opinions of people whose experience you clearly know nothing about and the actions we take to feel less excluded).

  • How lucky, to be blessed by the forest cat! 😺

  • I think you might want to give these a read:

    https://psmag.com/social-justice/our-bones-reveal-sex-is-not-binary

    https://www.thepinknews.com/2023/01/13/pelvic-bone-unreliable-in-identifying-gender/

This isn't to dismiss your concerns, but instead to let you know that your pelvis being one way or another, on its own, probably isn't an indication of anything at all.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't consult a doctor to see if they can help you confirm or dispel your worries since this is clearly bothering you, but most importantly, remember - whatever the outcome, there's nothing "wrong" with you.

  • Were they friendly? Did you get to pet all that fabulous floof?? 😻

  • Your problem is with capitalism and an Apple VR doesn’t change that.

    That's a bingo!

  • Oh, you think that, do you??

Are you a medical professional or a scientist?

Are you involved in the care of an individual trans person, or are they participating in your research?

Since you've answered no to all of those, and even if you had answered yes, then still no, in almost all cases, the distinction isn't relevant, and more importantly, is none of your fucking business.

And since I doubt you've had your own chromosomal make up tested, or even your hormone levels, you probably couldn't commit 100% to your own (or anyone else's) fucking "biological sex" so questioning that of others (or worse, demanding proof) only because they're trans isn't only intrusive, perverted, and outright transphobic, it's also entirely unscientific (the term as well as the concept/construct), and as mentioned above - none of your motherfucking business.

So you can take your generic "I'm not a transphobe but...bIoLoGiCaL sEx" excuse and shove it, and if being called a transphobe bothers you more than being one, perhaps try educating yourself instead of continuing to regurgitate the most commonly used transphobic talking points in existence..

  • I read "gay" as "goy" at first and was really confused for a minute why you specifically didn't want Jewish opinions on anime.. 😂😂

  • I've not been able to do any of these for a while with life doing its thing and being overwhelming, but I've enjoyed things like those "gem" mosaic pictures (apparently called diamond painting) and good old colouring books. I also got in to making stim jars for a while, then someone suggested I monetise them and I completely lost interest lol (though that gif is making me want one now)
Also tried indoor gardening for a while, but I just kill any plant that comes my way, so I've stopped that abuse now😂

  • I love everything you've said, I just want to add to that last point - while kindness and patience are radical and powerful tools, and people, allies especially, should try to lead with those, expecting (not that you implied it, just saying) marginalised people to be patient and kind in the face of bigotry is the height of privilege and often slips in to tone policing. People need to understand that anger is a valid reaction and part of the education, and that discomfort is essential to growth.

  • That's fair, though I still think you'd be surprised at where these kinds of creatures can get in to.. Either way - I would not be messing with those spiders lol

  • You choosing not to have kids due to family history isn't justification for motherfucking eugenics, you ableist.

  • My understanding is sex is measured by if this individual is going to have a kid will they being the impregnator (male) or the impregnatee (female),

Before we even go in to how this false dichotomy excludes trans people - you've completely erased intersex people.

The bottom line is humans are assigned a sex and gender at birth based almost exclusively on the visible external genitalia, which simply isn't enough to indicate anything other than what external visible genitalia a person has. Beyond that, 95%+ of people are completely unaware of their chromosomes, hormones, or even internal organs, and whether those "match" the sex and gender they were assigned at birth (like cis men with extremely low testosterone, or cis women with XY chromosomes).
When a trans person takes HRT, they are literally changing their biological chemistry, when they have surgery, they are literally changing their physical characteristics, and having XY or XX chromosomes doesn't definitively define anything. If a trans man still has a uterus they can and plenty have gotten pregnant, as men, because being pregnant doesn't invalidate their gender, nor any physical or hormonal changes they might have undergone. Just like not having a uterus doesn't suddenly revoke womanhood (see cis women having hysterectomies).

Both sex and gender are spectrums, and neither are distributed as neatly and bimodally as cis-heteronormative society (and your fourth grade biology teacher) would have you believe.

Trans people are whatever gender they tell you they are, and just like you wouldn't ask cis people for their chromosomal make up to confirm their gender, there is no rational reason to do so to trans people before you accept this (outside of transphobia).
