  • "Embrace the suck" is a big one for me. I work outdoors and unless the weather is dangerous you still have to get it done. So when proper shit weather hits I just laugh now because while its going to be terrible its going to be an experience.

    Like that time I did 10 hours in 40c heat during a dust storm, wearing a respirator. Worst day ever... hell of an experience though.

  • Listen teens, I'm 40. I was a niteclub bouncer in a town popular with backpackers and partying, I also did a lot of traveling and partying. I was shameless, its a miracle it didnt fall off.

    When you say you fucked my mom, its childish and stupid. When I say I fucked your mom while its not likely its possible... and thats worse.

  • Sometimes "Suck it the fuck up" is good advice, sometimes it isnt. Sometimes "Process this later" is healthy, sometimes it isnt.

    Emotional health is knowing what you need and when.

  • It does sound very bad but the ocean is unfathomably fucking huge. Not just surface area but sheer volume, I dont really want to go down a rabbit hole of "how much cyanide in how much water would be considered harmless", "how much cyanide was the ship carrying" or "how much water is in the ocean" but I hope someone does.

  • Dropped fruit all over the ground really encourages rats though.

    My mum got a house super cheap when I was young because it had a "rat problem" it also had a peach tree in the back yard that the owner didnt pick up after. We removed literal garbage bags of peach pits from the roof space and crawl spaces of that house and garage.

    Chopped the peach tree down (it wasnt a healthy tree anyway) and the problem basically disappeared in days.

  • Thats the thing. If a customer forgot to mask off an alarm panel or two not taking the 5 minutes to do it just makes you look like a fucking asshole. If they didnt mask off a bunch of stuff then you call them, tell them that either you need to add to the estimate or rebook the job.

  • This is also why I own 2 shitbox cars.

    I'm a good amateur mechanic. But I cant guarantee I wont order the wrong part, be sent the wrong part, have misdiagnosed the problem, the job turns out to be a nightmare etc... So as long as the other one is running, I have time and ability to sort it out.

  • I buy a lottery ticket every week. Not because I think I stand a chance of winning but I am renting the idea that I could solve 95% of my problems instantly.

    I wont win, I'll still have problems I know this but that $10 a week is me renting hope.

  • Ok you need to separate this. You need food options and you need bulk calories.

    For breakfast, you need a decent hit of low GI carbs and a protein source. Whilegrain toast with whatever or oats is GOAT, add in a protein coffee (Cold brew/espresso and vanilla protein powder) and you have my breakfast. If you want some more calories and fats in breakfast mix the protein shake on whole milk not water. But this combo burns long and slow.

    For the calories at work onsite grab yourself some mass gainer protein and smash a shake with lunch. Lunch can be whatever the hell you want with one of those. One serve of most mass gainers is half of my daily maintenence calories. Unless your job is professional weightlifting, you probably wont out-work this. Although Id advocate for a big boy wholemeal roll stuffed with some meats and a lot of salad.

    I think it would be a really good idea for you to track your intake for a few weeks and get a good idea on how much you really need to eat. My Fitness Pal is ok but Macrofactor takes a breakdown of what you put in and your weight and over time dials in how much you need to eat for what physical result you want.

    In simplest terms for muscle gain in most grown men the rule of thumb is 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass is a good number to aim for spaced as equally as you can throughout the day in 3 to 5 meals. I could write more about the myths and legends that permeate this shit but for 99% of people 99% of the time - This will work.

    Take me for example. My 0% body fat weight would be 155lbs. So 1 scoop of protein in the coffee, 25g. Protein bar mid morning 25g, mass gainer at lunch 50g, even if your afternoon snack is pure carbs dinner only has to be 55g for me to hit the base markers for ideal muscle growth and theres 56g in a double quarter pounder.

  • Yep. Everyone hoping for a crash or collapse has a very narrow view on the situation. It should be easier to profit by adding property onto the market and harder to profit off holding onto them.
